The GCBH clinical team would like to introduce you to our newest BCBA! Congratulations, Aly!

Aly’s hard work and discipline in grad school, practicum, and long hours of studying have paid off! She passed her board exam this morning and we couldn’t be more proud of her!

It doesn’t take a piece of paper stamped “PASS” or fancy letters behind her name for us to know how special she is, but those accomplishments mark a HUGE milestone for her in her ABA journey.

Aly is a gift to our team and the clients and families we serve! She is selfless in her time and energy, creative and thoughtful with her strengths, and wears a million hats in our small company because she’s always willing to jump in whenever and wherever she is needed.

The world is much brighter because of Aly, and we feel so incredibly lucky that we get to share in that light!

It's team member Tuesday at GCBH! This Tuesday we are introducing one of our newer RBTs, Rosa Medina! Rosa started at GCBH in the beginning of June and since then has shown the team how awesome of an RBT she is! Rosa is passionate about her clients, always asking great questions and encouraging them to succeed! When asked what she loves most about her position here at GCBH, she replied “the positive environment, encouraging staff, and all of the clients”! With such little time at GCBH, Rosa has already demonstrated how driven, hardworking, and dedicated she is to the ABA field. Rosa stated that the hardest part of her job is “the intensity of maladaptive behaviors can be difficult, but my coworkers do an amazing job supporting me through those days. My motivation is my clients and the desire to help them and their families”. Rosa has earned her associate’s degree in human services and is starting her bachelor’s degree in ABA, to hopefully become a BCBA! When Rosa isn’t busy working or focusing on school, you can find her volunteering in the community, working with different art media, or watching anime and Shrek movies! Rosa, thank you for all your hard work that you do for the ABA field, we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!

Happy Team Member Tuesday at GCBH! Tuesdays are for sharing appreciation for our staff and today we are celebrating our Perform Yard Specialist, Whitney Roach! Whitney started at GCBH during the start of the company opening in 2019! She stayed with GCBH for 2 years and 8 months before moving to Texas with her Fiancé. In the beginning of this year, we were lucky enough to hear back from Whitney and her Fiancé about returning to GCBH. We are honored to welcome them both back to our team! When asked how she has impacted the team’s success the most, she stated “I feel like I helped create the culture of GCBH and shape what it is today. I continue to do my best to bring encouragement to everyone and push them toward professional growth”. Whitney has been a great addition to the 2024 team and has been doing an excellent job supporting our staff through professional goals to better help our clients! Whitney loves knowing that the work she is doing is helping the staff and therefore the clients. She enjoys getting to talk with the clients, see how their day is going, and help them feel cared for by being a positive, consistent adult in their lives. When Whitney is not helping our staff and clients at the center, she works as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for her own business! She provides online therapy to clients from Indiana and Texas and hopes to increase her clientele throughout the years to provide affordable and accessible therapy services! You are awesome Whitney! When not at GCBH or working with her clientele, Whitney can be found geocaching, cooking, and spending time with her Fiancé, Hannah! Thank you for all your passion, hard work, and dedication you have for others!

It’s Friend Friday at GCBH! This Friday we are putting the spotlight on RBT, Kenya Grajeda! Kenya has been a part of the GCBH team for 5 months. When asked how she has impacted the team’s success, she replied “by bringing high energy and positivity”. We agree! Since Kenya’s first day at GCBH, she has brought a positive attitude, deep passion for the client’s success, and high energy that ignites fun and creativity! Kenya loves being able to work and play with her clients at GCBH! Kenya believes that the hardest part of her job “is when a behavior is happening, but I don’t know why. What motivates me is learning more about the clients and increasing interaction with them”. Kenya is most proud of receiving her RBT certification and renting her first apartment at 19 years old! Go Kenya! When Kenya isn’t giving her all to the clients at GCBH, you can find her taking her dog, Zeus, to the dog park, hiking, watching TV shows, and taking time for self- healing. Thank you for all that you do Kenya!

Happy Team Member Tuesday from GCBH! Today, we are putting the spotlight on RBT Stephanie Alvarez! Stephanie joined our team earlier this year and has demonstrated what it means to be a team player, a great RBT, and a great role model for other staff and clients! When asked what she loves most about her position, she responded “when the clients greet me with a big smile and when I see their progress”. Stephanie’s dedication, positivity, and proactive engagement with the clients has shown us the positive impact she has made and is going to continue to make during her time at GCBH. Stephanie shared that the hardest part of her job is “seeing the clients struggle to communicate their thoughts and feelings” but stays motivated by knowing that her and her team are here to help each client reach their ultimate goals. Stephanie is most proud of raising her 5 children, having a job as an RBT, and being able to go to school! Way to go Stephanie! When Stephanie is not being an amazing RBT or mother, you can find her reading or hanging out with her friends. Stephanie, we are beyond excited to see the difference you will make here at GCBH!

It’s Friend Friday at GCBH! Today, we are giving a special shout out to RBT Ananastasia (Anna) Stover! Anna has been an RBT at GCBH for a little over a month, being a great addition to our team! When asked what is something you’re passionate about, Anna responded “I don’t want to just make an impact or impression. I want to make a CHANGE. I want to alter something into something stronger and healthier”. Anna’s flexibility and fresh perspective on clients is what she believes has impacted the team’s success the most! We agree! Anna’s ability to jump right in to any client’s case has demonstrated a positive work ethic and a great team player. When asked what she loves most about her position here at GCBH, she said “I love the community here. Everyone is so supportive and we have such strong technicians. Our guidance here from the BC’s and side-kicks are top-notch”. Anna is most proud of moving into her first apartment, having a motorcycle, and being an RBT since graduating high school. In the future, Anna plans to continue gaining experience in ABA and be fluent in her work. Anna plans to stay in ABA and doesn’t see herself changing her line of work! We are excited to see the change that Anna makes here at GCBH!

It’s Friend Friday @ GCBH! This week we are shining the spotlight on RBT Amanda Highers! Amanda has been an RBT at GCBH for almost 9 months and has been a strong addition to the team! Amanda thinks she has impacted our team's success by being consistent with client programs, training other staff members, and adding a fun and positive morale to the team. We couldn’t agree with her more! Amanda is proud to have her Associates degree in Social Sciences and a cosmetology license! She is also thankful for new beginnings as she moved to our area from Virginia Beach, bought a new car, moved into a new house, and found a new career path in ABA! Wow, go Amanda! She is very passionate about Psychology and making people happy inside and out and loves her job here at GCBH! A fun fact about Amanda is that she has been ATV riding where Jurassic Park was filmed! How cool! Outside of GCBH, Amanda can be found going on fun adventures, hiking, visiting state parks, singing, dancing, and photography. Amanda, we appreciate all you do for our team and clients!

Let me tell you a little bit about our team:

February is National Heart Disease month and today is the 2 year work anniversary for these two.

Nicole had a massive heart attack last summer that she shouldn't have survived. She was only 37 at the time. Nicole, willed by the love for her family and friends, was such a strong fighter and we are so thankful that she is a living, breathing miracle that is here to celebrate with us today.

Alyssa is one of the most thoughtful and giving people I know so it was no surprise when she came up with the idea to make special addition GCBH shirts to let Nicole know she is not alone in her fight against heart disease. Alyssa, happily let all the light shine on Nicole today as our whole team wore RED, even though it was a milestone day for both of them.

It's a proud moment for me getting to watch our team do what they do best; loving and supporting one another, within these walls and far beyond ❤️

It’s Friend Friday here at GCBH! Today, we are shining the spotlight on RBT Abby Kinder! Abby has been an RBT at GCBH for 9 months, demonstrating role model behavior when interacting with our clients! When asked what she loves most about her position, she replied “spending time with kids and watching them grow”. Abby shared that her favorite memory at GCBH was Water Day because she was able to see her clients try new things and loved watching her client spend time in the kiddie pool! Abby is very proud of becoming an RBT, graduating college, having children, and buying a house. Something that most people do not know about Abby is that she played D1 college basketball! Go Abby! In the future, Abby wants to continue working with children as an RBT. When not working hard at GCBH, Abby can be found spending time with her family and friends, listening and keeping up with Taylor Swift, involved with politics, and going on adventures in Michigan. Abby, thank you for all of your hard work at GCBH!

Shoutout to Breanna Schuler who was one of our November Membership Award recipients! Breanna has gone above and beyond to show up at service events and always represents JLSB with a warm smile and positive attitude.

Happy Friend Friday from GCBH! Today we are honoring RBT Alayna Conrad! Alayna has been with GCBH for 7 months, being a tremendous help with any responsibility she is given. When Alayna was asked how she thinks she has impacted the team’s success the most, she replied “ I feel that I have impacted the team by helping out where I can. Helping with data collection and bringing new ideas to the table when it comes to the clients”. Alayna believes that the hardest part of her job is “watching the clients leave to move on to school”, she stays motivated by thinking about helping future clients do the same. Alayna is very passionate about our clients and is determined to give the best services possible. She is very proud of her personal and professional accomplishments that include being a mother and becoming an RBT. Outside of GCBH, you can find Alayna spending time with friends and family (especially her son, Giovanni), cooking, reading, and going on fun adventures! In the future, Alayna hopes to obtain a Psychology degree and continue working with children. She is very determined to be a great parent for Giovanni! Thank you, Alayna, for everything you do for our clients and center!
