💙 A special thank you to the incredible students and staff at York Elementary School! 💙

Recently, Aileac and Launa, had the opportunity to visit with the amazing 2nd grade students at York Elementary. The students generously created special comfort boxes, rice sensory toys, and heartfelt notes for the children and families we serve at Ryan’s Place.

Not only were the students eager to learn about how Ryan’s Place supports grieving children, but they were also engaged, thoughtful, and excited to make a difference in the lives of others. Their kindness and compassion were truly inspiring.

We are so grateful for this meaningful partnership and for the love these students poured into every gift they created. These special items will bring comfort, connection, and care to children navigating grief.

Thank you, York Elementary, for showing that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big impact. 💚

Last evening, we gathered to celebrate an extraordinary milestone…the retirement of our CEO, Aileac Deegan, after 21 years of unwavering dedication to the mission of Ryan’s Place. 💙

Surrounded by friends, family, staff, volunteers, and community partners, we honored Aileac’s incredible leadership, compassion, and commitment to serving grieving children, teens, adults, and families in our community. Her impact on Ryan’s Place is immeasurable, and her legacy will continue to shape our mission for years to come.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who shared special remarks during the evening, including Rex and Nancy Gleim, Carol Jarvis, State Representative Joanna King, Mayor Gina Leichty, Melissa Blosser Vice Chair, Board of Directors, and Rossa Deegan. Your words beautifully reflected the difference Aileac has made in so many lives.

As we celebrate Aileac and all she has given to Ryan’s Place, we are also excited to warmly welcome incoming CEO, Launa Leftwich. We look forward to this next chapter and the continued growth of our mission.

Please join us in thanking Aileac for 21 incredible years and wishing her joy in retirement! 💙

🌳💚 A Tree of Remembrance at Ryan’s Place 💚🌳

As our evening groups come to an end, we gathered together for a meaningful moment of remembrance and hope. Families and children joined us to plant a tree in honor of the people they love and miss.

Before the tree was planted, heartfelt notes filled with memories, love, wishes, and messages were written and gently placed into the ground beneath it…creating a beautiful symbol that love continues to grow, even through grief.

This tree will stand as a reminder that those we hold in our hearts are never forgotten, and that healing can happen together, rooted in love, community, and remembrance. 💚

Thank you to all the families who shared this special moment with us. We are honored to walk alongside you.

Some hearts have been part of the story from the very beginning 💙

This beautiful moment captures something so special at Ryan’s Place…connection, compassion, and the quiet ways healing happens.

The two incredible volunteers pictured, Daniel & Dora, have been part of the Ryan’s Place journey since the very beginning. For years, they have shown up with caring hearts, gentle presence, and unwavering dedication to the children and families we serve. Their kindness has touched countless lives in ways words cannot fully express.

Moments like these remind us that healing often happens through simple acts; sitting together, creating, listening, and showing up again and again.

To our volunteers who walk alongside us from day to day: thank you for helping make Ryan’s Place a place of comfort, hope, and belonging. We are deeply grateful. 💙
