The warmer springtime weather is in the air, and Golden Years is beginning to come alive with color. As the trees start budding and flowers begin to appear, it creates a beautiful scene all around our community.

Our residents love taking advantage of this wonderful time of year—whether it’s going for a relaxing walk around campus, snapping photos of the blooming trees, or even getting creative by painting the beautiful scenery. There’s something special about spring that brings everyone outside to enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of nature together.

We’re excited to see our campus continue to bloom in the weeks ahead! 🌷

Last week, our team at Great Lakes had a special reason to celebrate! 💚

A huge THANK YOU to Greencroft Communities for our new “One Team, One Mission” t-shirts. We were all so excited to wear them together!

It’s the little things like this that bring us closer, strengthen our connections, and remind us what it means to be part of One Team with One Mission.

🌷🌱 April is here, and that means it’s time to start planting the seeds for a beautiful season ahead at Walnut Hills!

As the days grow warmer, our campus begins to come alive with bright blooms, fresh greenery, and the joy that comes from getting our hands in the soil. Gardening is more than a hobby — it’s a wonderful way for our residents to stay active, enjoy the outdoors, and watch something beautiful grow.

🌼 A few early spring gardening tips:
• Clean up garden beds by removing leaves and debris to give new growth room to thrive.
• Loosen and refresh soil with compost or nutrient-rich topsoil.
• Start cool-season flowers and hardy plants early in the month.
• Check tools and watering systems to be ready for the weeks ahead.
• Keep an eye on those chilly nights and cover young plants if needed!

We can’t wait to see Walnut Hills bursting with color in the weeks to come. Here’s to sunshine, fresh air, and a season full of growth! 🌸💚

🌟 CROFT in Action (CIA) Award Winner – Greencroft Goshen 🌟

Please join us in celebrating our recent CIA Award winner, Niki Mays, Business Office Manager for Greencroft Goshen Healthcare!

Niki was nominated by two team members who shared the following:

💬 “Niki is constantly ensuring that our residents and their family members are kept informed throughout the billing process. She goes above and beyond—helping residents complete financial assistance applications and even joining phone conferences to support them.”

💬 “I was having a particularly rough day, and Niki went out of her way to show kindness. She invited me to talk, listened with compassion, and offered just the right amount of advice. She made me feel seen on a day when I felt invisible.”

Niki truly exemplifies our CROFT values—especially Respect, Openness, and Teamwork—through her dedication to both residents and fellow team members.

Thank you, Niki, for living out One Team, One Mission and making a meaningful difference every day. 💚

✨ There’s always something happening at Greencroft Middlebury!

Our campus is full of energy, connection, and activity — and at the heart of it all is our Community Center. From special events and luncheons to gatherings with residents, families, and friends from the greater Middlebury community, it’s a place where memories are made and relationships grow.

Greencroft is proud to call Middlebury home to one of our campuses and grateful to be part of such a welcoming and vibrant community. 💛

✨🌟 Dare to Dream 🌟✨

Running now through April 30, the Greencroft Communities Foundation is inviting residents across all campuses to live vibrantly and DREAM BIG!

Is there a long-held dream tucked away in your heart? Maybe you’ve always wanted to dye your hair purple, revisit a special place, or finally organize a lifetime of cherished photos. Whatever your dream may be — we want to hear it!

Last year, we helped residents soar in a hot air balloon and ride a locomotive for the very first time. This year, we’re ready to honor even more incredible dreams.

🎉 2026 Resident Dreams Program applications are available now at campus front desks and information centers. Or you can apply on our Foundation website now: https://www.greencroft.org/foundation/page/resident-dreams

PLEASE NOTE: This program is meant for RESIDENTS only

Apply today! Questions? Call Abbe at 574-537-4066.

March is Team Member Appreciation Month, and today we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Nyree and Brittanie, two wonderful Housekeepers at Golden Years Assisted Living! 💛

Nyree has proudly served our residents for 20 years. She says the campus feels like her home, and both residents and staff are like family to her. Her dedication, warmth, and personal connections make every day brighter for those around her.

Brittanie, with 5 years at Golden Years, loves joining in on residents’ inside jokes and harmless pranks. She’s built close bonds with so many residents that they feel like family too, and she treasures every moment of connection.

Both Nyree and Brittanie agree that Golden Years truly feels like a family. They love the sense of community, the wisdom and stories residents share, and the pride that comes with caring for residents’ homes every single day. They also love working together and being part of a team where they feel valued and supported.

We are so thankful for all that Nyree and Brittanie do—they help make Golden Years a clean, welcoming, and loving home for everyone! ✨
