My Bashor Why: Nichols Cossey - Youth Care Specialist

Nichols Cossey says seeing the growth in the kids is what motivates him to continue giving back to the youth and community we serve. Watching young people build confidence, overcome challenges, and move forward in life reminds Nichols why his work matters each and every day.

You can find your “why” at bashor.org.

Recently, Ranger Distribution Inc. joined us on the PAC course for a team-building experience with Heather and me.

What a great group with such a positive culture! We always love seeing teams come together, challenge themselves, and have fun along the way.

Bucket drumming with Mr. Kent is always a hit (pun intended) at Bashor Children’s Home!

Throughout the year, Mr. Kent visits our campus to lead drumming groups with our kids, giving them a fun, creative, and hands-on way to express themselves. While we can’t show the children in these photos, trust us, they absolutely love it.

Here are a few of our staff members jumping in and joining the fun.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At Bashor Children’s Home, our doors never close. Today, we are especially grateful for the staff working to ensure the children in our care continue to receive the safety, support, and expert care they need.

We remember their sacrifice with gratitude.

For more than 100 years, Bashor Children’s Home has had the privilege of walking alongside children, teens, and families during important chapters of their lives.

If Bashor was part of your story, we would be honored to hear from you.

Whether your time with us was recent or many years ago, we would love to know how you’re doing today, what you remember about your experience, and whether Bashor played a role in helping you move forward.

Your story matters. It can encourage our staff, strengthen our mission, and help others understand the lasting impact of care, support, and hope.

Past residents, families, and program participants are invited to share a message with us privately by sending us a direct message.

There is no pressure to share publicly. We are simply grateful for the opportunity to reconnect, listen, and celebrate the lives that have been part of Bashor’s story.

Foster Friday: Show Up. That’s Enough.

You don’t need all the answers to make a difference, just a willingness to be there. A steady presence can help a young person feel safe, seen, and supported.

At Bashor Children’s Home, we equip foster families with training and 24/7 support so you’re never alone on the journey. Start with showing up. Learn more at bashor.org
