Attention friends who live or work with children:
Communication Station NY are starting a book club called “The Reflective Reader”. It will be hosted on an app called Fable. We will select a book to read together and have questions to lead discussion on the app. Participants will receive certificates at the end for Professional Development hours for participating in the chats for each chapter.
See the attached flyer for more information. Our first book will be “The Anxious Generation” and we will start on May 11th. You are responsible for purchasing or borrowing your own book.

July is Disability Pride Month! Disability Pride Month is an annual observance in July that celebrates people with disabilities, commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and promotes disability culture and visibility.

Observed every July, Disability Pride Month recognizes the importance of the ADA, which was signed into law on July 26, 1990. It highlights disability culture, history, and community pride. This month challenges the harmful idea that people with disabilities need to conform to norms to live meaningful lives. Their lives are just as full, valuable, and worthy of respect—no more, no less.
