Did you know that the average response time for EMS in rural Pennsylvania ranges from 17 - 24 minutes, but can range to well over an hour, due to shrinking budgets and declining volunteerism.
Wilderness and Remote First Aid (WRFA) classes aren't just designed to teach you first aid for exotic, far-off places. They are designed to teach you how to respond to sudden injury or illness anytime that access to definitive care by EMS is delayed (75% of PA is considered to be rural).
Who should take Wilderness and Remote First Aid?
Moms
Dads
Scouts
Teachers
Students
Oil and gas workers
Farmers
Loggers/sawyers/arborists
Factory workers
Coaches
Park rangers/educators
Law enforcement
Summer camps
Anyone who works with the public
Anyone who works/plays outside
Anyone who has family or neighbors
WRFA is a 16 hour course that will teach you how to recognize and care for soft tissue injuries/severe bleeding, skeletal injuries, head/neck/back injuries, cold related injuries, heat illness, diabetic emergencies, anaphylactic shock, and much more! Don't stand around helplessly the next time you witness someone who is injured or ill. Take action! Sandcut Outdoors LLC is currently scheduling WRFA classes for late winter - summer of 2026.
