Wrapping up our 6 days retreat in Akumal, Mexico, our hearts are filled with gratitude for each other and the land. Healing comes in many forms but none more powerful than through the force of community.

We’re excited to share that over the next several months, we’ll be releasing a set of facilitated movement experiences organized around different principles of wellness.

In our first session, we will be exploring the quality of GROUNDEDNESS.

Groundedness is what gives us our fundamental connection to the body and to the Earth 🌎 . Without the stability of this knowing, all of our efforts towards healing and transformation can be easily washed away.

No experience is necessary. You can move exactly how your body wishes. While you do this exercise, you’re welcome to turn your camera off and so you can truly dance like no one is watching.
The core premise of this exercise is simply to be present in our bodies. Along with imagery, sensation and images, movement of the body is one of our most underutilized methods of perception and self knowing.

Nietzsche once said, “The body has more wisdom than your deepest philosophy.” Giving your body permission to move freely is an expression of this very idea.

Many of you have asked us about the name Ginkgo Heart. What is the story behind this name? We feel like the name really found us. On one of the programs we ran together when everyone had to bring something back, Ben and I both brought back one single Ginkgo leaf and we placed them next to each other.

We had been talking about offering retreats where we would focus on supporting people in opening, reconnecting and tapping into their heart’s wisdom to live a more fulfilled life.

Looking into the many symbolisms of Ginkgo like strength, resilience and balance it made total sense to combine these attributes with the heart.

We like to believe that both our hearts guided us to the Ginkgo leaves when we were asked to bring something back 💚
