Portal, inc is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) agency that has been in continuous operation serving adult citizens with developmental disabilities since 1965. Portal has a proud history of advocating for and supporting individuals primarily from Ozaukee and surrounding counties. Today, Portal serves more than 200 people with disabilities, providing the supports and experiences to life more fulfilling and meaningful lives.

🥁🎶 Music Time at Portal! 🎶🥁

Things got a little loud and a lot of fun during music time at Portal! Our participants had a blast making music, keeping the beat, and trying out different instruments. From tambourines to rhythm sticks and boom tubes, everyone found their groove! 🎵

The smiles say it all — music is a wonderful way to express creativity, build confidence, and most importantly… have fun with friends. We love seeing everyone get involved, try something new, and enjoy the moment together.

We think we might have a few future musicians in the group! 🎤🎶

🎨🐶 What a Great Time at the Resource Fair! 🐶🎨

We had such a fun day at the Resource Fair sharing all the wonderful things happening at Portal! Our booth was full of creativity, color, and some pretty adorable items for sale.

Just look at these cute little puppy magnets — how could anyone resist those faces? 🐾

One of the highlights was being able to showcase the incredible artwork being created by our participants.

We were especially excited to capture some photos of Stevie actively participating in art, showing just how much creativity is flowing in our program.

A big shoutout to our new art teacher, Serena, who is doing an amazing job! She has truly been bringing out the artist in our participants and helping them explore their creativity in new and exciting ways.

We are so proud of the talent and enthusiasm we’re seeing!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, supported our participants, and celebrated creativity with us. 💜

Portal’s Annual Run, Walk, Roll is Coming Back for Port Fish Days! 🐟🏃‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Get ready to celebrate community, inclusion, and a whole lot of fun at Portal’s Annual Run, Walk, Roll at Port Fish Days on July 18, 2026!

This beloved event brings our community together to support the incredible work Portal does serving adults with disabilities.

It’s easy! You can run, walk, or roll—everyone is welcome. Simply register online using the link or QR code on the flyer and secure your spot for this exciting community event.

🙌 Want to be part of the action without racing?

Volunteer with us!
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with course stations, water stations, packet pickup, cheering on participants, parking assistance, lap card punching, and event setup.

All volunteers will receive a FREE volunteer shirt this year! It’s a great way to support a meaningful cause and be part of the excitement.

Whether you’re racing, cheering, or volunteering, your involvement helps support Portal’s mission of empowering adults with disabilities and building a stronger community.

We are excited to share some big news about this years Portal Run, Walk, Roll — and we hope you will be part of it!

This year, we are introducing an additional, new flat course called the "Captain’s Course" that will be inside Coal Dock Park. Participants will now have the option to walk or roll without having to tackle the hills. We are thrilled to offer a course that is accessible to even more members of our community!

With this exciting addition comes an even greater need for the amazing volunteers who make this event possible.

That’s where you come in.

We are looking to rally our volunteers like never before, and there are many ways you can help:

Serving as a sentry at one of our 19+ course stations
* Helping at packet pickup on Friday, July 17th
* Punching lap cards on the new Captain’s Course
* Handing out water to participants
* Cheering on runners, walkers, and rollers
* Assisting with parking and event logistics

Whether you can volunteer for a few hours or spend the day with us, your support helps create an incredible experience for everyone involved.

If you have a group of friends, coworkers, or a team from work that would like to volunteer together, we would absolutely love to have you join us! There are many volunteer opportunities available — from helping with pre-registration activities on Friday, July 17th, to assisting on race day, Saturday, July 18th.

💚🍀 Green was the color of the day at Portal! 🍀💚

Our participants had a blast celebrating Wear Your Favorite Green Day, and they did not disappoint! From bright green shirts to festive accessories, everyone showed up ready to celebrate in style. 🌈

There were lots of smiles, laughs, and great moments shared throughout the day. We love seeing everyone’s personalities shine and the joy that comes from celebrating together.

🎶 What a fun visit we had today with Carrie and her amazing musical talents! 🎸

One of our favorite moments was watching Ada light up while singing along to *Johnny B. Goode* — “Go go go Johnny go, go go go Johnny B. Goode!” 🎤💃 She was clapping, smiling, and completely in the moment. Moments like this remind us how powerful music can be.
