August is National Minority Donor Awareness Month โ a time to honor the gift of life and help build a culture of donation in every community. ๐๐
Right now, 60% of people on the national transplant waiting list are from multicultural communities. That need is especially urgent in communities impacted by higher rates of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease โ all of which can lead to organ failure, especially kidney failure.
National Minority Donor Awareness Month is a nationwide effort led by the National Organ, Eye and Tissue Donation Multicultural Action Group (NMAG) to save and heal lives through education, outreach, and hope.
