Meet Brady!!
This is a long overdue introduction for Ms. Brady, our occupational therapist at Striding in Speech! Brady is such a blessing to our clinic and the clients she is serving. We are thankful for her passion and knowledge she has brought to our team!
Brady was born and raised in Graham, Tx. She went to Tarleton State University for her undergraduate degree, and she received her Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy from Abilene Christian University. Brady has worked in a variety of settings with clients of all ages. She is passionate about educating families in how to have a better understanding of what their loved one's needs are and teaching them strategies to help them progress to their highest level of independence.
"My favorite part of working with pediatrics is the absolute potential that they bring to the table. Children are these brilliant and creative little minds that want adults to see the world through their eyes. I love that my job allows me to get on their level and see how they are learning to navigate life. By getting on their level, I can see what their bodies are seeking; whether it's a sensory need or a weakness that needs strengthening in order for them to be more successful for playing, dressing, or self-feeding.
I also enjoy educating parents or family members. I often see parents feeling defeated because of a diagnosis their child has been given, and they are not sure how to help their child in the most productive ways. This sparks my passion for this profession, especially during evaluations, because I get to educate parents about occupational therapy and how it's a place to form the foundation for the rest of their child's life. When children come to therapy it's not because we have reached a dead end, rather, it's to meet that child where they are and guide them and their families to into adapting everyday tasks in order for them to be successful in their daily environments. "
Brady will be taking maternity leave soon and we are so excited for the new addition coming to her family. ❤️ She will be adding clients to her caseload upon return, so if you are interested in occupation therapy for your child call or email us today!
