Beautiful opportunity today for a walk in Alamance Co. NC. I was happy to find some edible mushrooms. I must admit the mosquitoes were after me but it was worth it. I had a good source for identification so tonight a small feast.

Yesterday's hot and muggy outing to Southern Pines NC offered me a unique find. I have been drawn to and have appreciated SASSAFRAS trees since time remembered. Their playful multi shaped mitten leaves never fail to catch my attention. Well the surprise yesterday was the seeding RED attractive fruit cups. Thought to share with you. Enjoy🌿
