Friends of the Cross Medical Missionaries We exist to deliver medical aid and stability to rural communities. 100% of all public donations Far too often, it leads to devastating outcomes.

HEALTH & SANITATION
In Africa, nearly 50 percent of the people have no access to a hospital or doctor. Children, teens, adults and the elderly suffer and die every day from curable or treatable causes such as hypertension, dysentery and other illnesses. Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country and its rural communities rarely have medical facilities of any type. The WHO reports only 39 doctors and 124 nurses per 100,000 people in the country. The life expectancy is 52 years. ORPHANS INFANTS & CHILDREN
Orphans and young children who tend to be the most vulnerable to diseases have benefited the most from our program. Currently, fewer than 4% of Nigerians are covered by health insurance and children bear the burden, with 6 million dying from preventable diseases each year. Time spent sick can keep women and children from school, work and taking care of their families. With simple treatments and medical aid applications, women are free to learn best practices and improve their families’ lives.
