We are excited to kick off another season of youth sports at the Hood County YMCA, but we can’t do it without YOU! We are currently looking for volunteer coaches to help our players learn, grow, and have fun on the field and court.

1 Coach for 5th Grade division

2 Coaches for 1st & 2nd Grade division

💡 No coaching experience is required—we’ll provide guidance and resources. All you need is a positive attitude and the desire to make a difference in a child’s life!

📢 Heads Up, Volleyball Families & Members!

We’re excited to launch our first-ever season of YMCA Youth Volleyball at Hood County! 🏐

Here’s what you need to know:

Practices begin weekly:
➡️ Tuesday, September 9
➡️ Optional group practice for 1st/2nd Grade: Tuesdays, 5:30–6:30pm (Racquetball Court).
➡️ 3rd/4th Grade practices will be scheduled on Tuesdays & Thursdays (between 5:30–7:30pm).

Games begin weekly September 12:
➡️ Friday evenings,1st/2nd Grade 5:30–6:45pm
➡️ Saturday mornings, 3rd/4th Grade 8:45am–12:00pm
➡️ Season runs through November 1.

🙌 We are still in need of:

2 Coaches for the 3rd/4th Grade Division

Parent helpers for the 1st/2nd Grade Division (to help organize stations and keep practices running smoothly).

Our YMCA Volleyball League is now Co-Ed and we’re adding a brand-new 5th Grade Division!

🏐 Volleyball is more than just a game—it’s a sport that builds skills that transfer into every other game kids play:

Vertical jump & explosiveness for track, cheer, and more

Hand-eye coordination for baseball, tennis, and beyond
