It is with deep sadness that we as members of the Pecan Plantation Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, Inc. Board of Directors must share the news that our friend and BOD Secretary, LaVern Franzen, passed away on January 5, 2026. He was a valued member of our community and for years an active Member of our EMS who went on to join the PP VFD EMS. Inc. BOD. Words cannot express how greatly he will be missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Bev, his family and loved ones during this difficult time. We will be personally hand delivering any sympathy cards dropped by our station addressed to his wife Bev Franzen. The family has requested donations in lieu of flowers, please consider contributing donations to PPVFD EMS, Inc. in his honor. The Board also plans to observe a moment of silence at our next meeting scheduled for February 19, 2026 6:00 pm in the EMS building. If you need support or would like to volunteer assistance for the family, contact the BOD by sending an email to ASKME@ppvfdems.com and we reply within 72 hrs. On behalf of the Board and the neighborhood, we offer our deepest sympathy to the Franzen family. In sympathy, Jeanie Curry, President PP VFD EMS, Inc.
