Paula is a graduate of Tarleton State University and The University of Dallas. Her credentials include Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Certified Forensic Consultant. She is Board Certified by the American Psychotherapy Association as both a
Relationship Specialist and as a Professional Counselor. She is also a Certified
Hypnotherapist and is a member of the American Hypnotherapy Association and
the National Guild of Hypnotherapists. Additionally she is a member of the Texas Counseling Association, the American
Counseling Association and is listed in the Cambridge Who’s Who of Professional
Women. Paula is also a presenter, writer, and well known public speaker in the Dallas/Fort
Worth Metroplex. She frequently works with physicians, judges, lawyers and others
in the medical field and law enforcement agencies to solve family problems and restore
civility and peace in family and crisis situations. Paula is a Certified Forensic Consultant, certified by the American College of Forensic
Examiners International. She is well established as a forensic expert in the family
court system and frequently performs psychological testing and evaluations for family
court judges. Paula Schirman enjoys working with various demographics. Her clientele includes
individuals of all ages: children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. She believes that each family is a system and by changing one piece of the system
you can change the whole system. Additionally she specializes in marriage and relationship
counseling. She also works with victims of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse as well as
family members. Paula is a cognitive behavioral psychotherapist and works on the principle that if
you change your thinking, you can change your life. She is married to Tom Schirman and they have five grown children and thirteen grandchildren. Paula and Tom make their home in Granbury, Texas.
