Don't get caught out in the cold, parents-to-be! ❄️❄️❄️

Emergency Birth kit for your car:

-Towel to catch fluids and rub baby's back.
-Hat to keep baby's head warm
-Blanket to cover mom and baby
-Phone charger for car
-Snack for mom
-Suction bulb to clear baby's airways
-Extra water

Extreme weather is a rough part about living in the mountains. If you have a precipitous birth on the road, call the emergency services immediately. As soon as baby is born, place him/her on mom's chest and cover him/her with the blanket to keep warm. Do NOT try to cut or tie the cord. If needed, you can suction out the airways with the nasal bulb, and stimulate the baby by rubbing their back with the towel.

We hope for safe deliveries for all our grand county residents. If you are due these winter months, find ways to prepare for the unexpected and be ready for anything. ❄️❄️❄️

Become a part of something bigger through Colorado Gives! 🧡 Each year we join this incredible fundraiser for nonprofits in Colorado to have a percentage of their donations matched through the Colorado Gives Foundation and sponsor FirstBank. Early giving opens TODAY! Through your support we are able to provide Grand County with free resources, clothing for kids, professional medical care, and so much more. We are incredibly grateful to our donors who support our work in Grand County! 🧡

🕯💙🩷🕯 October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. Today, parents in all 50 states as well as around the world, will light candles to honor their little ones who died in infancy or in the womb. The candles are lit at 7pm in each time zone, so the light travels across the map as a "wave of light".

Today we remember our little ones gone too soon and the parents, siblings, and family members who grieve their loss every day. 🕯💙🩷🕯
