January 1st, 2026 — Grand Blanc Pediatrics went from fully paper charts, paper scripts… paper everything — to a completely electronic system. It was the end of an era, and honestly… the start of chaos 😅 We went into 2026 excited, motivated, and ready for the change. That energy lasted about 3 days after our go-live date. Since then? It’s been a full-blown rollercoaster 🙈

There have been tears. There have been MANY crash outs. And most days still feel just as unpredictable as day one. But through all of it — every glitch, every learning curve, every stressful moment — we’ve continued to show up and give our patients the absolute best care we possibly can. Every single day.

On March 17th, we got a call from the Grand Blanc View and was told that Grand Blanc Pediatrics was voted 🎉 BEST OF THE BEST PEDIATRIC DOCTORS OFFICE IN GRAND BLANC 🎉 And wow… we did not see that coming 🤭 But it was the reminder we didn’t even realize we needed — why we do this, and why it’s all worth it ❤️🖤

Dr. Fawaz Haddad is the most brilliant doctor and could not be more deserving. He cares so deeply about the families that he treats and goes above and beyond normal patient care every single day. I have personally seen him catch cancers early during routine visits — literally saving lives. I’ve watched him hear a baby in respiratory distress from the waiting room and have that child in a room, on oxygen, within minutes — before the family even checked in. Just two months ago, he took ONE LOOK (I kid you not, one look) at my own daughter when she was sick and before even assessing her — diagnosed her with mono….which the blood draw confirmed 🙈🤯 There is not a single physician I would trust more with my child’s health, well being, and life than Dr. Haddad.

Our Nurse Practitioner, Erin Shea is just as deserving of this recognition ✨ She is brilliant, compassionate, and endlessly dedicated — and our patients absolutely adore her (for good reason) ❤️🖤

And behind it all… Our office manager, Erica — our captain 🥹 This place simply would not run without her. She pours her heart and soul into this office every single day, and WOW IS SHE GREAT AT IT 👏🏼 I am beyond grateful to have worked alongside her for the past 11 years. I’ve learned so much from her — not just professionally, but personally. I truly wouldn’t be who I am today without her 🤞🏼

This award may seem minimal to some, but it means the world to us at GBPeds and it belongs to every single person in our office — and to the families who trust us with what matters most. We see you. We appreciate you. And we will never stop showing up for you ❤️🖤

In your child is younger than five years and/or has a medical condition like asthma or diabetes, it’s recommended that you contact your pediatrician right away if you suspect the flu. This is because children in these groups are a higher risk of serious complications from the flu.

02/21/2024

Both the Centers for Disease Control CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend antiviral drugs in the early treatment of confirmed or suspected influenza in children. This is especially important for those children who are at higher risk of serious flu related complications.

If your children play a sport, give them a sports drink to prevent fatigue and dehydration. Studies show that lightly sweetened, flavored, non-carbonated beverages such as sports drinks do a better job than water of preventing dehydration.

It’s important to understand that the flu isn’t the same thing as a stomach bug. While children may experience nausea, stomach pain, and/or vomiting with the flu, the key symptoms include high fever, chills, body aches/headache, sore throat, and a dry hacking cough.

Did you know that young children under the age of 2, even when healthy, are much more likely than older children to be hospitalized from complications of the flu virus? It’s a good idea to consult your pediatrician right away if your very little one gets sick.

Babies who spend a lot of time in strollers, swings and cribs are in danger of developing positional plagiocephaly, or flattened head syndrome. In many cases, children with this syndrome can also be susceptible to torticollis, where unusually tight neck muscles minimize their ability to turn their heads, causing them to favor a particular side of the head.

The best way to prevent your children from catching colds is to teach them proper hand washing skills. This is because the common cold is spread mostly by hand-to-hand contact, so frequent hand washing is important.
