One of my favorite pictures from 3 years ago today! The relief on my hubby's face as well as mine is 100% accurate! We welcomed our last baby into the world, I can't believe it was 3 years ago! I'm so thankful my Doula and midwife snapped a few photos during labor!

My name is Jennilee Acton. I provide consulting services for developing birth plans/preferences as well as offer prenatal and birth doula services. I am available for in person support to families within one hour of Grand Blanc, MI. I can provide virtual birth preference planning for individuals located anywhere! I am passionate about educating and empowering families on their choices through this journey, I can't wait to meet you!

New research published this week by Dixley and Ball found that babies who are swaddled immediately at birth may have difficulty initiating breastfeeding, which has implications for long term breastfeeding and infant growth.

Their study concluded:

"As swaddled babies cry less, and are fed less frequently than un-swaddled babies some clinical trials position swaddling as a ‘novel weight regulation tool’ to combat obesity. However, in the case of breastfed babies, by reducing feed frequency swaddling may impede maternal milk production and thereby infant growth."
