More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital each year.
In 2020, any-mention sudden cardiac arrest mortality in the US was 436,852. CPR, especially if administered immediately after cardiac arrest, can double or triple a person’s chance of survival. According to 2021 US data for adult OHCA only, survival to hospital discharge was 9.1% for all EMS-treated non-traumatic OHCA cardiac arrests.

Globally, cardiac arrest claims more lives than colorectal cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, influenza, pneumonia, auto accidents, HIV, fi****ms, and house fires combined.

Did you know? Cardiac arrest remains a public health crisis. There are more than 356,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) annually in the U.S., nearly 90% of them fatal. The incidence of EMS-assessed non-traumatic OHCA in people of any age is estimated to be 356,461, or nearly 1,000 people each day. Survival to hospital discharge after EMS-treated cardiac arrest languishes at about 10%.

The Race To End Sudden Cardiac Arrest London is on Tuesday October 1, 2024 to Thursday October 31, 2024. It includes the following events: 5K, 1 Mile, and FREE Workout.

Medi-Weightloss have highly trained medical providers and staff in facility, they also have an AED and are prepared if an emergency were to arise. A portion of the class is donated to London Strong Foundation to get more life saving devices in our community!

AED survival rates without chest compressions or defibrillation are essentially zero. Early bystander CPR and a defibrillation shock provided within less than 3 minutes after collapse, the AED survival rate can be as high as 74% for patients with ventricular fibrillation.

Experts are pushing for CPR and AED training in light of the recent collapse of Damar Hamlin and death of Lisa Marie Presley.
