September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month ✨ 🎗️Ovarian cancer encompasses cancers of the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the primary peritoneum. These cancers often go undetected until they’ve reached advanced stages. They may not cause early signs or symptoms, and it is difficult to screen for the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Y’all, did you know?

According to the American Cancer Society, a person assigned female at birth’s lifetime risk of developing ovarian cancer is about 1 in 91.
That means 1 out of every 91 women will face this diagnosis in their lifetime. Awareness matters because early detection saves lives. ✨🩵✨

We encourage all of our patients to get checked regularly. Schedule your annual exam, or call for an ultrasound if you have concerns - such as pelvic pain, pressure, or unusual bleeding. 🩻 Early detection is the only way to catch and prevent this type of cancer from spreading to other areas of the body. 💙
