Today is Earth Day. I love this day for the awareness and topics it can bring up for discussion. In the same breath, it is quite ridiculous that we don't have these thoughts and practices in place every.single.day. I can hardly remember what I did a day ago, but I can vividly remember being in 5th grade and wearing a shirt that said "Every Day is Earth Day". Let's face it, The Earth doesn't belong to man, man belongs to the Earth. This is our home and the only one we have, so we should probably reconsider a few common practice that are all out of convenience. If you can't do it for yourself, my kids would really appreciate the small effort.
Here are some super simple things we can all do...
🌎Only use reusable bags! (Just throw them in your car and they will always be on hand.)
🌎 Resuable water bottles (I recommend glass or metal)
🌎 Reusable straws and/or refuse straws at restaurants
🌎 Store things in glass containers, not plastic (far better for the Earth and you!)
🌎 Choose healthy products (Where do you think all of those toxins go when you wash them off your body/down the drain, etc?). This goes for haircare, skincare, household cleaning products, organic foods, etc.
This is a super short list, but also really easy to swap for.
What is one thing that you are going to ditch and switch in your life? What is one thing you can commit to doing today? The sum of all efforts really do add up fast!
