This workshop offers a supportive space for yogis with hypermobility. Guided by Emily’s lived experience with hEDS (Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and her training as a Hypermobility Coach, you’ll explore ways to practice yoga that nourish stability, connection, and embodiment. Through mindful movement, feedback from props, and intentional pacing, you’ll learn how to slow down, enhance proprioceptive feedback, and deepen interoceptive awareness—the ability to sense and respond to what’s happening within. Expect a blend of education, guided exploration, and grounding techniques to help you feel more connected, supported, stable, and strong in your practice.

This small-group workshop, limited to 6 participants, allows for individual attention, personalized guidance, and a comfortable space to explore at your own pace. Ideal for those who are hypermobile, suspect hypermobility, or have one or more hypermobile joints—and are curious about building sustainable movement patterns rooted in awareness and self-trust.

It’s amazing how good this felt. I don’t ever remember feeling as much as I do now. I have much more connection w the ground & the bar. My form is smooth, strong & balanced.
I haven’t regularly practiced Olympic weightlifting since covid. I lost the desire to lift 2 hrs 3-5times a week in a dark garage gym all winter alone… even tho I enjoy being alone. It’s a thing
I’ve been practicing & coaching Integral Movement Method this past year. The connection I’ve gained w/ my hypermobile body through this method is evident to me in this video & my day to day life. Jerks were always my weak link. The stability overhead is what took me out of competing internationally after qualify in 2019. My shoulder had enough & I ended up w a labrum tear. All these years later I am very pleased w my progress.
I’m not even wearing Olympic weightlifting shoes, using chalk or wearing wrist straps, knee wraps, etc…
This is 66% of my body weight. I’m happy w the overhead stability I’ve gained. Makes me dream of competing again.

Ina strengthening her back & upper body w/ the landmine row. So happy to still have the garage open for the season! The fresh air & sunlight pairs nicely w/ building muscles!

Leaning into supports as a hypermobile weightlifter. Using straps can greatly reduce the pain in your hands from gripping the barbell.
I also use herbal methods to help relieve my hand pain. Check out my other account for info on stinging nettles. I’ll share it to my story here as well.

Cindy explored sn**ches for the first time last week. The sn**ch requires technique, mobility, as well as stability. The movement came easily to Cindy… even barefoot!!

What is Aerial Yoga? This is a question I was approached with yesterday. The answer can only be defined by each individual practitioner!
Just like art, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For some they crave flips and tricks, some are in it for getting traction of the spine, some are seeking a more grounded and balanced practice.
Just like Yoga, Aerial can come in many different variations. Vinyasa, restorative, slow flow, inversions, etc.
What do you desire the most in your aerial practice?
*video sped up. Do not practice aerial from a tree. Thanks Coach Mac for keeping me safe from the chipmunks!

Today we explored using a chair in the yin portion of VinYin yoga today.
If you haven’t tried this variation of legs up the wall using a chair you are in for a treat! No folding chair? No problem, you can use a sofa or upholstered chair.
This takes off some pressure on the lower back & can feel very soothing!
Starting tomorrow at 1 pm I will be teaching a Chair Yoga class at Genesys Health Club. If you’d like to explore a full class using a chair please join me on Wednesdays at 1pm!
