So I've been lucky not to have hot flashes. I did have night sweats in my early 40s but thought it was related to some personal relationship issues. My symptoms have been waking up at 3am...wide awake, brain fog (forgetting words in your 40s isn't just age), insanely itchy ears, massive anxiety, bloating, some joint pain, and weight gain. It's annoying but lowering stress and inflammation have helped with everything (cue yoga practice in the am) but the anxiety and weight gain. Anxiety was erased with HRT. Weight gain I'm working with a nutritionist.

This is how I feel lol this photo is hard to post but I want women to see it and understand menopause weight gain happens. I've gained a little over 20 lbs since my hysterectomy most of it in my midsection. I've learned a lot in the last 4 months and am working with a menopause certified nutritionist to reverse the cortisol and visceral fat gains. You can start learning way earlier than I did to avoid this. Lowering stress and anxiety is key so I'm back on the consistent yoga train. I'm sure the 4 day conference and 5 flights in 7 days isn't helping either. 😂

Picture is because I need someone to adopt these cats - Barkley, Kelce, and Harper 😁 post is a PSA. Don't wait until your in menopause to do things to address perimenopause. Symptoms - joint pain, interrupted sleep, itchy ears, weight gain, tired after sleeping, digestion changing, and suddenly normal foods causing bloating. You don't have to live with these and it's HARD to get US medicine to address. Eating fiber, focusing on a less stressful environment (yoga not a bad idea 🥰), and sleep are huge helpers! Yea I'm preaching. To all my ladies not yet in their 40s, ask questions now. Or just follow me

Anyone who knows me probably wonders how much I sleep....8 hours every night. It's very rare I get less. Not sleeping ages you....inside and out. Your body needs rest. It's not a fad. It fuels me. I like life at 100 mph (in more ways than one 😁)! You can only do that and remain healthy with rest. If you change one thing this year, get more rest! Oh and follow me 🙏

Itchy ears...did you know that was a menopause symptom? Yep...and my family always gets the weird symptoms. It's unnerving...the itching. Found out lotion actually does work but how strange. Think I've been going through the peri and full thing for 5-7 years but I've been dealing with so much other crap that I tossed the symptoms aside as a result of life stress and just age. Don't make assumptions about your health. Ask questions and do your own research. Most importantly don't settle for less than feeling great! ❤️ Follow me

I was walking through the snow last week and noticed my right foot pointed slightly out. When correcting my step for alignment I realized it hurt....long story short a compensation I made for an injury in 2020 turned into a habit and is likely contributing to continued hip flexor aggravation. As I focus on my health this decade, I will surely be paying attention to small things that could become big problems as I get older. Our bodies are the great adjustor....for a time. It's important to pay attention to the clues she gives us.
