On St. Patrick’s Day, Altru nursing assistant Madilyn Waldal jumped into action when she saw a man overdosing in traffic near West Acres. Her quick thinking helped save his life, and this week, she was honored for her life-saving efforts. 💚👏

A nurse, nursing assistant and a Fargo officer were honored for helping revive a man who overdosed inside his car on 13th Avenue on St. Patrick’s Day.

ER nurse, Charity Samuelson, RN, has received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses! 👏

Charity was nominated by a local group home manager for her exceptional compassion and care shown to a patient with disabilities during a recent ER visit.

Charity's patience, empathy, and sense of humor turned a stressful situation into one filled with comfort and connection.

“I have never seen anyone with so much patience and kindness,” the nominator shared.

The patient called her “the nicest and funniest lady.” 💚

📣 Big news in Devils Lake! Altru has opened a new outpatient dialysis unit at Altru Clinic Devils Lake. The upgraded space includes 12 treatment chairs, expanded from 5, offering patients more comfort and convenience.

This new unit means patients can receive life-sustaining care closer to home, with more natural light, modern equipment and a caring team by their side.

It’s part of our ongoing commitment to invest in better health care for the Lake Region community. 💚

A few weeks ago, another Camp Good Mourning took place to help children who have lost a loved one.

The children had a great time going on nature walks, doing arts and crafts, and making music of their own.

We were very excited to partner with University of North Dakota this year and host the North Dakota Governor's School activities. At Altru, they learned the array of health careers and ways that we improve the community! Students from across the state are accepted to the NDGS and learn how to connect career, college, and civic aspects into their academic perspectives. 💚
