Medical professionals provide no-cost health care and referrals for uninsured or under-insured adult

Patient Highlight: Sara recently came to LIA seeking dental help as she sought to rebuild her life after difficult years. Volunteer dental professionals provided a hygiene cleaning, fillings, and worked with a generous dental lab to replace one of her teeth, restoring her smile. Staff encouraged her as she took needed steps in other areas, gaining a job promotion, and restoring relationships with family members. She received additional help from other services at Love in Action as she establish a new place to live. What a joy to be a small part of her journey, watching God give her hope!

Streamlining charting is essential to keep patient records accurate and simple for our visiting volunteer dental professionals. So many thanks to Darbee, Registered Dental Assistant, an administrative ninja, who helped us update templates in our electronic charting today!

This morning, we had the chance to enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Morning Star 707 Event Center, celebrate several of our participating dentists, and meet a couple of new ones, too! What a joy to start the day in recognizing and spending time with these professionals. Many thanks to Morning Star for use of the space, Henry Schein Dental for sponsorship, and Kathy Christensen, our Rep, for her excellent work!

We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to your incredible generosity, we have exceeded our $10,000 fundraising goal, securing the $25,000 Blue Cross Blue Shield matching grant for the LIA Medical & Dental Center. Jim joined the Love in Action smoking cessation course, “on a whim,” not really believing that he could quit. He had been a smoker for forty years and reached up to a pack a day. The free 8-week course includes curriculum by the American Lung Association, peer support, and other helpful resources. With this support, Jim graduated. During his celebration, he gratefully shared that he had not smoked a cigarette in 21 days, saved $210, and could breathe easier!
