Another continuing ed course in the books!

Also exciting to take a deep dive on an area of the body to gain new insights and continually grow as a clinician. Looking to implement some of these interventions when the opportunity arises.

THIS is one of the main reasons why I begin almost all bodywork sessions with some form of myofascial release!

Your body has layers of tissue that are meant to slide and glide past each other. Overuse, injury, habitual patterns, and several other factors can lead to a decrease in sliding and gliding of these layers that contributes to chronic pain.

Myofascial release is a relatively gentle technique that creates a shearing force between layers of tissue. This shearing force encourages production of hyaluronic acid from fasciacytes which restores the proper sliding and gliding of healthy tissue.
