Our 2025 Birth Recap 💙

We are incredibly proud of our Maternity Team and the care provided within our unit this past year. It is a true privilege to serve our community and to walk alongside the families who trust us during one of life’s most meaningful moments.

Behind every number is a commitment to excellence — a dedication to continual professional growth, teamwork, and the intentional practice of safe, equitable, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. We are honored to support our patients and their families with compassion, skill, and respect, and we remain deeply grateful for the opportunity to do this work every day.

Thank you to the families that chose us, and to our team for the heart, expertise, and pride you bring to our unit.

…Riley !!!🌟

Riley is one of our NICU nurses, she is also cross trained to post partum!

❤️My sister is one of those people that is willing to put others first. It may not be something she likes or wants to do, but she will do it. That’s why she is so good at her job; she is comfortable putting herself second. She is also someone that is very supportive and pushes you to do big things in life. Without her I wouldn’t be where I am. Thank you and congratulations on this great accomplishment. - Kaden

🧡As soon as Riley made the decision to become an RN she began working diligently toward her goals - through the Medical Pathway at Grand Island Senior High, through college and her clinicals at GIRMC and her work at GIRMC as a Student Nurse Technician, to her employment there as an RN. She is passionate about her patients and their families and is a strong advocate for GIRMC.
Riley Rae has been a ray of sunshine in our lives since the day she was born. She is obviously now sharing that happiness, hope, and positivity in her place of work.
We love you, Riley Rae ~ Grandpa & Grandma

💛I am so proud of Riley for being nominated for the Employee Spotlight! I have watched her strive to learn every day to be the best nurse she can be and to be the calming, passionate person that families deserve in their times of joy and in times of need. Her care and compassion for her patients, job, and coworkers is evident in each conversation. Riley gives it her all and is willing to help coworkers and the department in any way that she can. I love you Riley! - Mom

💚Riley has always been a caretaker, especially for little ones! From the time our Kyler was born, she wanted to be with him and helping with him. She knows how to read babies and nurtures them! We are so proud of her and can only imagine how amazing she is with the most fragile infants! - Natalie

💙Congratulations, Riley! Being chosen as Outstanding Team Member is such a well-deserved honor. Your skill, compassion, and calm presence make an incredible difference for the babies you care for and the families who depend on you during their hardest moments. The NICU is a better place because of you, and we’re so proud of the nurse and person you’ve become. - Brandon

🩵I have always been proud of Riley, but I think I am most proud of her story to this point of her career. It is a story of perseverance. She decided she wanted to start nursing directly out of high school. So, she had to take both her senior level high school classes as well as the prerequisite college level courses her final year of high school. While most of her classmates were going to school half of the time, she had a full schedule. As a parent, I then found out that Nursing School is no walk in the park. I watched her put more work into school than she had ever done before. She overcame obstacles and came out the other side a better person. She was 19 years old when she started working full time as an RN. There many challenges to that as well. I find it very fitting that at this point of her career, she is helping babies persevere through the struggles that they face starting their journeys. I’m proud of you Riley. Keep working hard! - Dad

💜Congrats Riley! You have worked so hard and it really shows! Great job super proud of you and what you do! Thanks for always supporting me in nursing too! You’re such a great role model in my nursing journey! -Austen

🩷Riley consistently shows that she cares about what she does. Whether that be picking up an extra shift when needed, switching to a different shift, or helping other departments. I’m glad Riley gets some recognition so she knows that other people see the value she adds to the hospital. - Aidan

🩶 Riley is an incredible asset to our NICU team. She consistently shows compassion, patience, and dedication to our tiniest patients and their families. Her positive attitude and willingness to step in wherever needed make such a difference every shift. It has been wonderful to watch her grow and become the nurse she is today! Congratulations Riley! - Maria

🎉 Celebrating 5 Years of Caring for Growing Families 🎉

This week we proudly celebrated five years of maternity services at Grand Island Regional Medical Center and the incredible journey of caring for families from the very first moment to the days that follow.

Over the past five years, our Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Neonatal Intensive Care teams have had the privilege of supporting thousands of births, comforting families, and caring for our tiniest and most vulnerable patients.

This milestone reflects the dedication, compassion, and teamwork of our nurses, providers, and support staff who show up every day with skill, heart, and an unwavering commitment to safety and excellence. It also represents the trust our community places in us during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

To every family who has chosen us for their birth experience, and to every team member who makes this work possible—thank you. We are honored to be part of so many beginnings and look forward to continuing to grow, serve, and celebrate alongside our community for many years to come. 💗👶

Happy 5th Birthday to our Maternity Services!

❤️ She has so much love for her job, coworkers, and patients. She is so accepting of her children and allowing us to be who we want to be. - Gaby

🧡She is very passionate about what she does and loves to make people laugh and is a good mom. - Natalie

💛She always been there for us. - Jenn

💚 Jess is amazing!! Her support and knowledge make her a vital asset to our unit and have personally made me a better nurse. When I came to night shift, Jess was so kind and patient—and always sprinkled in just the right amount of humor to make even the toughest nights lighter. She never hesitates to jump in and help, all while bringing smiles and good energy with her. So grateful for you, friend—you truly deserve this!! ✨ - Skylie

💙 Jessica. Cook. 🤭. There is no one more deserving of this! Something about our friendship is hard to explain, because if you aren’t us, you just truly wouldn’t get it! Jess is my grounding rod. From the start she has been my greatest mentor, my biggest supporter, and now one of my best friends! It’s almost as if we work flawlessly as a team because we are always on the same wavelength. Jess has a heart for this job and every patient she encounters is lucky to be in the safest hands. She is both a wealth of knowledge and experience, and always makes sure everyone feels seen and heard. I admire her ability to be assertive and advocate for others, while still offering a safe and comforting environment for everyone. I wouldn’t be the nurse I am today without her. Jess is an amazing mom, grandma, and friend, and I am so lucky to get to work along side her!! - Addy
