Don said "We still wanted to golf three times a week, play pickleball, and go on weekend trips to Kansas City. We wanted to do that. We wanted to make more memories together. And we told Dr. Huyck, that’s what we want.”

And that's what they did. Facing stage four lung cancer wasn't going to stop Don, he was our first patient to enroll in a new clinical trial that reduced his tumor by 40% and halted it's growth.

"He was the first patient to enroll in this specific clinical trial at our site. Clinical trials can seem intimidating for patients, but Don and Katie were always prepared with appropriate questions and a positive mindset. Don has done wonderful things so far, and I appreciate him letting me tag along on his journey. I am forever rooting for him,” says Crystal Granados, Clinical Research Coordinator.

Are you registered yet?!

Race for GRACE has always been about bringing our community together to support those currently fighting cancer, celebrate survivors, and honor loved ones who are no longer with us. The morning is not about the finish line, but about feeling surrounded by encouragement and support.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, April 11 at 9:00 AM at College Park in Grand Island.

• Celebration Walk – approximately 1.4 miles and walking only
• 5K – approximately 3.4 miles
• 10K – remains unchanged

Thanks to the generosity of DJ and Kathy Eihusen, registration continues to be free for all cancer patients and survivors.
