Miranda and Bryan Brown extended gratitude this week to a team of nurses who cared for Miranda, her newborn daughter Delilah and the entire family during their birth and extended NICU stay at Grand Island Regional Medical Center. A Beyond Expectations award was given to nurses Erica Treffer, Riley Harder, Maria Lawrence, Breanna Snyder and Sydney Stewart.

Miranda expressed appreciation for our nurses' exceptional care for a feeling she described from her experience. They were more than patients, but friends who accepted their entire family with kindness.

"We want to express our deepest gratitude to Grand Island Regional Medical Center and the GIRMC Foundation for your outstanding care and assistance during a very difficult time. The care and emotional support our baby and family received from our care team went above and beyond.

GIRMC Foundation helped our family obtain a proper fitting car seat for our baby, provided gift cards for gas and other assistance and connected us with financial resources from the HALLElujah Father Daughter Dance to replace the tires on our car so we could safely transport our baby home.

Your kindness won't be forgotten. GIRMC will always be the one and only hospital for our family."

Certificates and pins were distributed to the nurses, with the help of Delilah's older brother, Royce.

Stacey Nold, Jenn Zywiec and Erin Nowak (not pictured) graduated from the Bryan Health Emerging Leader Program on May 20th.

The Bryan Health Emerging Leader program is a 10-month program designed to expose high-potential individual contributors to the skills and mindsets that are important for successful healthcare leadership. Employees are nominated and a cohort is selected to participate each year.

Participants learn about the role of a leader, exploring if they are interested in a future leadership role. By participating in this cohort, they build key skills that are foundational to leadership and important for professional success in their current role, including emotional intelligence, self-awareness, communication, problem-solving, and change resilience.

Through this program, participants gain a broader understanding of the work done in various teams throughout the health system and build relationships with a wider network of leaders and peers.
