Today marks the anniversary of the unveiling of the bronze statue dedicated to the Radium Girls. The Radium Girls were factory workers in the 1920s who painted harmful radium on wristwatch dials, and many lost their lives to the work.

The statue honors the women whose story holds an important place in the history of health physics and the labor rights movement.
