🎄❤️ Our Residents Are Making a Difference This Christmas! ❤️🎄

The residents of Solstice Senior Living at Grand Valley have rallied together in the most incredible way — raising funds to sponsor an entire family through Hope of the Grand Valley this holiday season.

Thanks to their generosity, compassion, and holiday spirit, we’ll be able to purchase Christmas gifts and essentials for a family right here in our community. This group continues to amaze us with their big hearts and incredible willingness to give.

Huge shout-out to our residents for spreading love, hope, and joy this Christmas. We are so proud of you! 💕🎁✨

At Solstice at Grand Valley, our residents are using their talents to spread warmth and kindness throughout the community. Through our Stitching Group, they create handmade items for local care facilities, hospitals and neighbors in need, each piece crafted with love and compassion.

The group recently delivered 30 handmade baby blankets, hats and keepsake bags to Community Hospital, Grand Junction, Colorado, to make sure new parents and those experiencing loss can both find comfort.

What started as a shared hobby has become a beautiful tradition of giving back and staying connected. ❤️

Today we had the honor of hosting the incredible Junior ROTC students from Central High School for a special meet and greet! Everyone was in awe of these amazing young ladies — their confidence, kindness, and leadership truly shine. 🌟

They stayed to enjoy lunch with our residents afterward, sharing stories, laughter, and plenty of smiles. We know these young women have bright futures ahead, and we’re so grateful for the time they spent with us today. 💙

🧶💙 The Stitchin’ Club Spreads Love and Comfort! 💙🧶

Our amazing Stitchin’ Club at Solstice Senior Living at Grand Valley delivered beautiful handmade baby blankets, hats, and keepsake bags to Community Hospital today. These special gifts will go to families welcoming new babies — and to parents who must go home without their little one, offering a keepsake made with love and care.

Amy Hanson from Community Hospital accepted the donations with such gratitude and kindness. Afterward, Lynna and the ladies enjoyed a wonderful lunch at The Flying Pig — the perfect way to celebrate their meaningful day of giving. ❤️

🍕 Lunch Bunch at Yaghi’s New York Pizzeria! 🍔

Our group enjoyed a fun afternoon filled with laughter, good company, and seriously delicious food! The Strombolis were huge, the pizza slices were perfect, and those Wagyu burgers — absolutely amazing!

There’s nothing better than great food shared with great friends. ❤️

Meet our amazing Stitchin' Group

At Solstice Senior Living at Grand Valley, one of our most meaningful resident groups began two years ago — not with fanfare, but with yarn, heart, and purpose.

In February 2023, a small circle of residents who loved to crochet, knit, and quilt decided to come together with a shared goal: to do something good for others. That day, the Stitching Group was born — and what started as a hobby quickly turned into a heartfelt mission of service to the Grand Valley community.

Their first project was creating clothing protectors for local skilled nursing facilities — practical, handmade gifts stitched with care and dignity. When those were delivered, the group didn’t stop there. They began crafting blankets and quilts for other residents in need across care facilities in Mesa County, bringing warmth and comfort to seniors who might otherwise go without.

Soon, their compassion reached even further. The Stitching Group began making tiny baby hats, blankets, and booties for newborns at the local hospital — and for families grieving the loss of a little one, they lovingly created keepsake blankets to honor those precious lives. Every stitch, every loop of yarn, carried the kindness and empathy of women who understand the healing power of something made by hand and given from the heart.

Today, their mission continues to grow. The Stitching Group is currently working on scarves and winter hats for the unhoused population of Mesa County, ensuring that even during the coldest months, someone will feel cared for and remembered.

For the residents involved, this isn’t just a pastime — it’s a way to stay connected, purposeful, and proud. What began as a few ladies around a table has blossomed into a vibrant tradition of giving that truly embodies what Celebrations is all about: finding joy and meaning in community, creativity, and compassion.
