Pickleball happened this week, and things got intense!

Mrs. Tara got pelted with a ball, and it definitely left a mark. The question is: if you didn't get hurt, did you even play?

Just kidding. You're all amazing, and we love how hard everyone works on the court. Mrs. Tara will survive, and we'll be back at it soon!

We'd like to introduce you to our new friend: Gregory The Goose!

Gregory has taken up residence on our porch, and we're pretty sure he's here to stay. We're already planning his wardrobe for every season and occasion.

Welcome to the family, Gregory!

Mixed Media class last week: crayon melting!

The teens (and staff) had so much fun watching the crayons melt and transform into something new. There's something satisfying about the process, the colors blending together, and seeing what emerges.

Every piece turned out completely different, and that's exactly what we love about it.

Last week, in Friendship Class, we read "The Good Egg" and then made I Spy Jars!

These jars are filled with rice and little trinkets the kids chose, so they can try to find them within the rice. Watching the kids pick out their special items, fill their jars, and then immediately start searching was so fun.

It's a simple activity, but it kept them engaged, excited, and proud of what they created. Plus, they get to take them home and keep playing.

Community Group was at the Food Bank once again, and this time we got to prep boxes and pack supplies.

Our teens worked hard getting everything ready, and our teachers jumped right in alongside them. Don't they look cute in those hair nets?

This is what showing up looks like. Everyone working together, doing the work that matters, and making a difference in our community.

The movement group hiked Dino Hill last week, and it was so much fun!

The views were amazing, and our teens crushed the trail. There's something about getting outside, challenging yourself physically, and taking in those Colorado views that just hits different.

We're already planning the next adventure.

This week in Friendship Class, we read "Thomas's Snowsuit" by Robert Munsch and then created our own people and designed what we would want our own snowsuit to look like.

The kids got so into it, imagining their perfect snowsuits with all the colors, patterns, and details they could dream up. It was creative, fun, and totally theirs.

We also spent a great deal of time creating with Legos, and that unstructured activity was wonderful. No instructions, no rules, just building whatever came to mind. Watching the kids explore, experiment, and create freely reminded us how valuable that kind of play really is.

Our Community Group was back at the Food Bank today prepping more apples, and once again, Phil brought everyone donuts.

Phil has been showing up for our group week after week with his kindness and generosity. This time, the Food Bank got everybody to write a thank you in a giant card for him. Our teens were so excited to tell him how much his support means.

Phil is one of the kindest people, and moments like this remind us how much community matters. Thank you, Phil, for everything you do.

Mixed Media class this week: we made air dry clay, and the teens got creative.

Watching them shape, mold, and bring their ideas to life was incredible. Some knew exactly what they wanted to make, others experimented as they went, and all of them created something uniquely theirs.

This is what art should be: hands-on, open-ended, and full of possibility.

Experiment Group this week: we made elephant toothpaste and then built things with Legos!

The elephant toothpaste experiment was a hit (nothing like a little foam explosion to get everyone excited), and then our teens channeled that energy into building with Legos.

Two totally different activities, same result: engaged, creative teens having a great time while learning.

Movement group hiked Opal Hill this week, a 2-mile trek that got everyone moving and outside.

Honestly, we're loving being able to get outside like this in the winter. Fresh air, physical challenge, and time together in nature? That's the perfect combination.

Our teens crushed it, and we're already looking forward to the next hike.
