Today is World Book Day 📚

Reading can be a simple way to support your mental well-being. Studies show that spending time with a book can help reduce stress, improve sleep, and give our minds a break from the pace of everyday life.

Stories also remind us that we’re not alone. Through characters and shared experiences, books can help us better understand ourselves and others.

In honor of World Book Day, take a few quiet minutes to open a book.

What’s something you’re reading right now? 📖

CEC is guided by a dedicated, thoughtful board. Each month, we’re highlighting one member and the “why” behind their service.
This month, we’re spotlighting Stacy Falsone, Secretary of Counseling & Education Center. Here is her "why"

"I work as a training developer for child and family service workers and also have a background in integrated behavior health care. Currently I serve as the CEC Board Secretary.

CEC's commitment to behavioral health access for all, in addition to the organization's focus on community education and collaboration, is what ignited my passion for serving on the board. I love that CEC is so dedicated to developing a strong and resilient clinical care workforce that's especially attuned to the unique needs we have in the rural parts of our state."

For 45 years, our work has been shaped by the needs of Mesa County and the people who call it home.

Do you have a hard time saying no?

Maybe you agree to things you don’t really have the time or energy for.
Maybe you feel guilty even thinking about turning something down.

You’re not alone.

Our newest blog, The People Pleaser, talks about why we overextend ourselves, how it affects our mental health, and why setting boundaries is actually a form of self-care.

Saying no doesn’t make you selfish. Sometimes it just means you’re being honest about your limits.

Our newest blog, The People Pleaser, explores why we overextend ourselves, how it affects our mental health, and why setting boundaries is a form of self-care.
