Shared from Dr Eddie Weller:
Oh it was just a little bump.
Oops, did you fall down?
Don’t cry, it wasn’t that bad.
Oh, you’ll be fine.
Yep, we have all heard them all. Tuesday, they all matter. From the birthing process, to learning to walk, and then going through the mishaps of growing up, a slip, a fall, a bumping of the head can cause some of the biggest long term life changes when it comes to your physical or psychological health.
Think about of our body, and what it endure. Maybe it’s a bumping of the head, a sports injury, car, accident, slipping on the stairs, or even more subtle than that, sitting at a computer all day, staring at your phone, working out at the gym, as our body adapts to the stress that we give it.
I can go on and on with these types of physical scenarios.
Most of us never really think about the chemical stressors that our body has to endure. Nor do we ever think about how our body regenerates itself by making new skin, new organs and such and in order to do so it makes these things from the things that we put into our mouth. Maybe you’re taking a bunch of medication’s in the morning and now the body has to adapt to the chemical stress? Maybe you’d like to have your soda every day or you smoke or v**e? Do you eat from the microwave, fast food, fried foods, chemical filled foods (which 99% of foods currently are)?
then of course, is our emotional stress. Things that happened in our yesterday, things that are currently happening today. Maybe it’s sitting in traffic or worrying about your boss? Or you wake up next to somebody that you are incredibly unhappy with? Maybe it’s money that is stressing you or you have anxiety over something that hasn’t even occurred yet.
All of these things are part of the human experience. From our thoughts, to the toxins to the traumas that our body endures, they add up! And, overtime, the body can only adapt to a point that theses stressors.
What do you think is in control of all of these adaptations?
It’s our Nervous System.
I really think about it..
Neuro- meaning nerve
and
Logic -meaning intelligence
that means there is an intelligence within our nervous system, and it KNOWS ALL. It allows our lungs to take an air, our heart to pump blood, our stomach to make acid, our kidneys to filter, and the list of the things our body does without our knowing goes on and on.
This delicate and intricate system is what keeps us alive. The beauty of how we were made is that there is a hard structure that surrounds this delicate system designed to protect it. It is our skull and our spine.
“OK Eddie, what’s your point?”
My point is, life is going to happen and we are going to make some decisions that are going to cause physical, chemical or emotional stress to our body. Overtime these stressors add up and it causes our nervous system to go into chaos. On top of that, when a vertebrae within your spine slides out of place, it compromises normal neurologic functioning. This is the cherry on top of the life-threatening health cake.
Having your spine checked once a month by somebody who analyzes your spine both neurologically and structurally is one of the best gifts you could give yourself.
