April at Grand Lake Yoga is built around one idea: Nourish.

Jenny's letter this month is a good one. She writes about the balance between giving and receiving, about how slowing down isn't falling behind - it's how you refill the cup. This month's classes move into Slow Flow, a practice where pacing itself becomes the point. Muscles wake up, the nervous system settles, and breath leads the way.

Classes meet at the Grand Lake Center Tuesdays 10-11am (Vinyasa), Wednesdays 8:30-9:30am (Yin), and Fridays 8:30-9:30am (Gentle Flow) through April 19.
*No classes April 20-May 8 while Jenny & Lincoln celebrate their 30th anniversary in Italy and France. Back on the mat May 12.

April is almost here, the lake is already open, and spring in Grand Lake is ahead of schedule. If your body is ready to move but your mind is still catching up, that's exactly what Friday Gentle Flow is for.

This class is built for anyone who wants the benefits of yoga - better mobility, less tension, a quieter nervous system, without the intensity. Beginners are welcome. So is anyone who's been away from the mat for a while.

Fridays at 8:30am at the Grand Lake Center. Registers at grandlakeyoga.com to save your spot for next week.

March's theme at Grand Lake Yoga is Awakening, and if you've been sitting with the idea of trying something new, pushing a little harder, or simply coming back after time away, this is your nudge.

Vinyasa is one of our more dynamic practices. Unlike Yin or Gentle Flow, it's breath-driven and building. Each posture is connected to the next in a progressive, energizing sequence. It challenges you. It also meets you where you are.

Ideal for active beginners with some yoga experience, intermediate students, and advanced practitioners ready to go deeper. If you've been curious about Vinyasa but weren't sure it was "for you" - it probably is.

This past week was one of those experiences that reminds me how much there is to learn and how inspiring it is to be surrounded by people who are passionate about the same things you are.

I spent the week in an intensive anatomy lab with My Vinyasa Practice at the Institute for Anatomical Research, diving deeply into the structure of the human body. The amount I learned in just a few days was incredible. Studying anatomy in this way gave me an even greater appreciation for the intelligence, complexity, and resilience of the human body.

I got to study alongside an amazing group of yoga teachers who were curious, thoughtful, and deeply committed to understanding the body and movement. I also got to take some wonderful yoga classes from truly inspiring teachers throughout the week.

I’m excited to bring what I learned back to my classes at Grand Lake Yoga and continue helping students explore movement with more awareness, curiosity, and respect for the incredible bodies we live in.

The perfect ending to the week was getting to take a yoga class with my dear friend and teacher, Tracey Garcia Yoga. Moving, breathing, and sharing a class together after such a full week of learning felt like the best possible way to close the experience.

I’m coming home feeling inspired, grateful, and excited to keep integrating everything I learned. The human body is endlessly fascinating, and I feel lucky to keep learning more about it.

“Connection is why we are here.” - Brené Brown

February invites a softer pace. A chance to notice the connections we tend carefully and the ones asking for a little more care.

This month at Grand Lake Yoga, our theme is Connect. We’ll explore connection as something we practice from the inside out. Through breath, awareness, and honest attention. How we listen to ourselves. How we respond when something feels tender.

On the mat, connection shows up in breath and sensation. In flow classes, we’ll focus on spinal mobility and gentle heart opening through the shoulders and upper back. Not forcing openness. Simply creating space and letting connection arise naturally.

Off the mat, notice where you feel nourished and where you feel stretched thin. Let that awareness guide small, supportive shifts.

Grateful to explore this month with you.
With care,
Jenny

As we close out the month, we’re turning toward aparigraha, the yoga practice of non-grasping.

Aparigraha asks us to notice what we’re holding onto. Old expectations. Fixed timelines. Ideas about who we should be by now. Not to judge them or push them away, but to gently loosen the grip when holding on creates more tension than support.

On the mat, this can look like releasing how a pose is “supposed” to look and listening instead to how it feels in your body. Off the mat, it might mean trusting that not everything needs to be decided right now.

This week, choose one small place to soften control. Let something remain unfinished. Let the outcome breathe. Notice what opens when you stop forcing the next step.

How are you practicing letting go right now?

*Please Note - There is NO CLASS on Tuesday, January 27th

January doesn’t need fixing.
It can start quietly.

Yoga is a place to begin without pressure. A place to move, breathe, and show up as you are. No resolutions. No reinvention. Not to become someone new, but to remember yourself a little more clearly.

While goals have their place, there is a quieter and more sustainable way forward through intention. In yoga, this intention is called sankalpa. It isn’t rooted in pressure or self-criticism. It’s a heartfelt truth that comes from clarity. A way of choosing how you want to feel and live, rather than what you think you should change.

Join us for January classes at Grand Lake Yoga. And read Jenny’s latest blog for a gentle reflection on beginning the year with intention, clarity, and self-care.

Ski days ask a lot from your body. Strong legs. Steady balance. A calm mind when the terrain gets interesting.

Yoga supports all of it.
It builds the kind of strength that protects your knees and hips.
It improves balance and body awareness so you feel more in control on your skis.
It keeps your spine, hamstrings, and hips moving freely, which means fewer sore days and more good ones.
And it trains your breath, so you stay relaxed and focused even when the run gets challenging.

Whether you are carving tracks at Granby Ranch or cutting trail through fresh snow in the Park, yoga helps you ski longer, recover faster, and move with more ease.

Join us at Grand Lake Yoga this winter and bring a little more strength, balance, and breath into every turn. ⛷️

January in Grand Lake, Colorado invites us into something quietly powerful.

A beginning doesn’t need to be loud or dramatic to matter. Sometimes beginning looks like pausing. Listening. Choosing again with a little more honesty than before.

This month at Grand Lake Yoga, our theme is Begin. Not as a call to reinvent yourself or fix what isn’t broken, but as an invitation to meet yourself right where you are and ask, “How do I want to show up?” Yoga reminds us that each breath is a beginning. Each moment offers another chance to choose presence and intention.

Rather than resolutions, we’re working with sankalpa. A heartfelt intention that arises from clarity rather than pressure. Sankalpa isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering what matters and aligning your energy with that truth, on and off the mat.

If you’re living in Grand County or spending time here while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park, I invite you to begin with us this month. Off the mat, try this: spend a few quiet minutes reflecting on how you want to feel this year, not what you want to accomplish. Write down one word or short phrase that feels steady and supportive. Let it guide your choices gently.

I’m grateful to begin this year with you and to share this space of movement, reflection, and care.

With warmth,
Jenny
