For your safety (and in compliance with felony law in the Michigan Public Health Code), ALWAYS check to make sure the Massage therapist you see is *actively licensed*. Beyond that, this shared post is a plea from the kind of Licensed Massage Therapist you deserve, and I strive to be. Accept no substitute. Massage Livingston, LLC is where I learned Barefoot Massage and have continued to stay in contact because Rachel is a quality LMT.
“Who’s the Best Massage Therapist?”
We’ve all seen it asked in a Facebook group, “Who’s the best massage therapist in town?” there’s always a dozen different answers. Here’s the truth: finding the best massage therapist is a deeply subjective experience.
Let me explain why.
No two massage therapists are the same.
We each bring unique training, techniques, personalities, and philosophies to the table—literally. Some of us specialize in relaxation and stress relief, while others focus on functional recovery, mobility, or deep tissue work.
What feels “amazing” to one person might feel just “okay” to another. And that’s completely normal! Your needs, preferences, and goals determine who the right therapist is for you.
You won’t truly know until you try.
Unless you’ve been on every therapist’s table in your area, you can’t definitively know who the “best” is. But here’s the good news: receiving from different therapists is part of the process.
The real question is: 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲?
Do you want deep, focused work to relieve chronic pain? Relaxing touch to ease stress? Or something in between? When you’re clear on your goals, you’re more likely to find someone who matches your needs.
So instead of looking for the “best,” consider looking for the right fit—someone whose skills and approach align with your body and goals.
When you’re clear on what you need, you’re more likely to connect with the therapist who’s the 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘵 for you.
