📰 September Newsletter: Quarrying Stone into Usable Blocks 🪨

Before a granite memorial takes its final form, it begins deep within the earth in massive deposits. Skilled quarry foremen plan each cut with precision—turning raw stone into usable blocks while minimizing waste.

To put it in perspective: a single block measuring 3 feet x 3 feet x 10 feet weighs nearly 18,000 pounds. Moving something of that size requires not only massive equipment but also an incredible amount of skill and teamwork.

From start to finish, every monument carries the strength and craftsmanship of those who shape it.

🗞️ June Newsletter Highlight: Monuments of Metal 🏛️✨

When we think of ancient monuments, towering stone structures often come to mind—but metal, especially bronze, played a powerful role too. 💪🛠️

One of history’s most legendary examples? The Colossus of Rhodes—a 120-foot-tall bronze statue of the sun god Apollo, built around 280 B.C. to guard the harbor of Rhodes. 🌞⚓

Though it stood for only 50 years before an earthquake brought it down, its legacy lived on. The fallen pieces remained untouched for centuries before being sold off as scrap, their fate scattered across the Mediterranean. 🌊

Today, the Colossus reminds us not only of ancient innovation but also of the enduring artistry of metalwork in monuments.
