We are incredibly grateful for friends who quietly serve behind the scenes to bless our Veterans. 🎸🎹

A heartfelt thank you to David Wallace, a true Friend of Camp Hope, for recently cleaning, polishing, restringing, and tuning our bass guitar and two electric guitars that our talented residents love to play.

And this wasn’t the first time he stepped in to help; just a few months ago, David also tuned our piano. Because of his generosity, the music at Camp Hope continues to play clearly and beautifully. For many of our Veterans, music is more than sound; it’s therapy, connection, and healing.

David, thank you for using your gifts to serve those who have served us. We are truly thankful.

This week on Road to Hope Radio, hosted by David Maulsby, we are honored to introduce a powerful story of resilience, accountability, and redemption.

Joining us is Tranmainium “Silva” Williams, a U.S. Army veteran from Memphis, Tennessee.

Silva deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom shortly after completing basic training. While serving in supply, his base endured frequent mortar attacks. Determined to do more for his brothers in arms, he volunteered for supply missions outside the wire, placing himself in even greater danger.

About five months into deployment, the invisible wounds began to surface. Silva struggled with severe PTSD symptoms that manifested in extreme anger outbursts. Those struggles ultimately led to his separation from the Army. After returning home, the battle intensified. Moving from job to job and city to city, untreated trauma took its toll. His path led to incarceration, where he spent 15 and a half years behind bars.

Upon release, Silva made a decisive choice: he came straight to Camp Hope. In this episode, he opens up about living with PTSD, Manic Depressive Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder, and the long-term impact of combat trauma. He also shares a brief but deeply moving story about Christmas at Camp Hope, a moment that speaks volumes about restoration, brotherhood, and the power of second chances.

His story is raw.
It’s honest.
And it is exactly why Road to Hope Radio exists.

Tune in this week and hear how hope is not just a word, it’s a road worth walking. https://www.iheart.com/podcast/390-road-to-hope-radio-28216649/

This Valentine’s Day, Let Love Show Up When It Matters Most

Flowers fade. Chocolates disappear.
But hope can change a life forever.

This Valentine’s Day, you can be the reason a combat veteran feels remembered, supported, and valued. At the PTSD Foundation of America | Camp Hope, veterans battling PTSD and isolation find something many haven’t felt in years—connection, stability, and a path forward.

When you give, you’re not sending a card.
You’re providing safe housing, peer support from fellow veterans, licensed counseling, meals, and daily care—at no cost to those who served.

Your compassion tells a Veteran:
You matter. You’re not alone. Help is here.

Choose a kind of love that doesn’t end on February 14.

This Valentine’s Day, love doesn’t have to come with flowers or chocolates.

It can come with hope.

Many of the Combat Veterans we serve at Camp Hope are fighting invisible battles, PTSD, isolation, and the belief that they’ve been forgotten. For them, knowing someone cares can be life-changing.

You can be that someone.

By becoming a Veteran’s Valentine, your donation sends a powerful message: You matter. You’re not alone. We stand with you.

Your generosity helps provide:

* Interim Housing for the duration of the program
* Peer-to-peer mentoring program
* Licensed Counseling Sessions
* Food
* Personal Care Products

All at no cost to the Veterans or their families.

This Valentine’s Day, choose a love that lasts longer than a single day.

💙 Be a Veteran’s Valentine.
đź’™ Give hope.
đź’™ Help save lives.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Charles Munro and for their extraordinary generosity in support of the PTSD Foundation of America | Camp Hope. Their donation of essential commercial kitchen equipment is a meaningful investment in the daily lives of the Combat Veterans we serve.

We also offer heartfelt thanks to Freddie Denler and Will of Freddie Mojo’s Install for donating their time and expertise to professionally install the equipment, ensuring the kitchen was safely and efficiently brought fully online.

A special thank you to Lathan and Aurelio from our maintenance team, along with Chef Roger, Patty, Joey, Tara, and our dedicated Veteran volunteers for their hard work behind the scenes, cleaning, painting, and giving the kitchen the facelift it needed before the new equipment arrived. Their collective effort ensured the space was fully prepared and reflects the pride and ownership our community takes in serving one another.

This support means the world to Chef Roger and his culinary team, who now have the tools to prepare nutritious, high-quality meals each day. What may look like equipment is truly much more; it represents care, dignity, and community for those on their healing journey.

We are deeply grateful to Charles Munro, C&T Design and Equipment Co., Inc., Freddie Mojo’s Install, and our dedicated team members and volunteers for standing with our mission and helping us make a lasting difference.

A Marine’s Journey from Struggle to Strength

This week, host David Maulsby sits down with Jose Romero, a U.S. Marine from Stephenville, TX, whose journey reflects both the cost of service and the power of restoration. Jose deployed to Iraq in 2003 (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and earned multiple honors, including the Presidential Unit Citation, Iraq Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

After returning home, Jose faced heavy battles with PTSD, depression, anxiety, addiction, and anger. Once passionate about baseball and the arts, he even performed in a one-act play in high school, but those struggles eventually led to his removal from the military. Encouraged by Marines he once served with who later found healing at Camp Hope, Jose entered the program last July. Today, he stands as a Camp Hope graduate, preparing to return home next week with renewed strength, clarity, and hope.

Tune in for a raw and inspiring conversation about brotherhood, accountability, and the road back to purpose.
