Patients are often unsure about which medications are safe to take during pregnancy. Our office has provided patients with a list of medications that are generally considered safe for use during pregnancy. However, individual reactions may vary, and some medications may not be appropriate for everyone. Do not take any medication if you have an allergy or sensitivity to it. Always consult your healthcare provider before taking any medication during pregnancy to ensure it is safe for your specific medical needs. You can find the list on our omegaobgyn.com website under Patient Resources.

Annual well-women’s appointments are one of the best ways to take care of your health. We’re able to screen for cancers and diseases that might not be on your radar, before you even get symptoms. And it’s a great opportunity to ask questions about your health and get bloodwork done so we can help you feel your best.

I see these so often from my patients in their 30’s & 40’s. Hormone support for women can be life-changing. If you think you might be perimenopausal (pre-menopause) or menopausal, I’d love to talk with you and help you find solutions to feel like yourself again.

Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) can show up during perimenopause, often without a clear injury. As estrogen levels shift, it can affect inflammation, joint health, and connective tissue—leading to stiffness, pain, and reduced range of motion.

Many women spend months treating it as an orthopedic issue without realizing there may be a hormonal component.

If you’re noticing new or unexplained joint pain—especially alongside other subtle changes like sleep disruption, mood shifts, or cycle changes—it’s worth having a conversation.

You don’t have to connect the dots on your own. We can help you look at the full picture and talk through options that make sense for your body.

Lately I’ve been going down the rabbit hole of points, miles, and credit card rewards trying to figure out how to maximize travel. It started as a small curiosity and quickly turned into a full hobby. There’s actually a lot to learn about how airlines and reward programs work, and it’s been fun seeing how far you can stretch points when you plan it right.

That said…I played baseball growing up as a kid and loved doing intramural softball in college (which included some epically brutal injuries!)

And for the record, I’ve also run a few 5Ks before — although these days my free time is usually spent either with my family or trying to figure out the best way to book flights with points.

The HPV vaccine protects against the types of HPV that cause most cervical cancers, as well as several other cancers affecting both women and men.

It’s recommended starting around ages 9–12, but can still provide protection for older teens and young adults who haven’t received it yet.

If you have questions about the HPV vaccine or when it’s appropriate for your child, your Ob-Gyn or pediatric provider can help guide the conversation. Preventive care is one of the most powerful tools we have for long-term health. 💙

There is a lot of information circulating online about hormones — and unfortunately, not all of it is accurate or helpful. Hormones can play an important role in managing symptoms like hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood changes, and other concerns related to perimenopause and menopause. The right treatment depends on your personal health history, your symptoms, and your goals.

Instead of relying on internet trends, the best place to start is a conversation with your provider. An Ob-Gyn can help you sort through the noise and talk through what options may actually be appropriate for you.
