Today, December 3rd, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), the Pediatric Mindworks Center is proud to join the global community in promoting understanding, supporting inclusion, and celebrating the incredible diversity and talents of individuals with disabilities.

Every child, regardless of ability, deserves to be seen, heard, and empowered to reach their fullest potential. At Pediatric Mindworks Center, our mission is to provide personalized, thoughtful assessments that focuses on strengths and fosters a world where every child feels truly included and valued.

This is great news!

🚨 HUGE NEWS: The SUPPORT Act has been signed into law by the President, officially authorizing the FASD Respect Act. This is the culmination of countless hours of work by the FASD community, and we are grateful for the work of our sponsors, Senators Murkowski and Klobuchar and House Champions Representatives McCollum and Bacon over the years. Now, we turn our focus to ensuring FASD Respect Act programs are fully funded and able to make it into your communities.

The FASD Respect Act goes beyond just securing funding for FASD programs. Now that the FASD Respect Act has become law, the federal government is tasked to address FASD through a realigned perspective that supports individuals and families and respects their lived experience. Official passage also allows this community to fight for greater funding for the programs and services that will make a real difference in your lives.

This significant step forward was made possible by the generous donation of time, energy, and charitable giving from the entire FASD community. Self-advocates, parents and caregivers, and professionals across the country donated their time by writing to and meeting with Members of Congress, ensuring they are FASD-informed. Longtime champions like Susan Shepard Carlson spent countless hours drafting legislation and sharing their expertise with advocates. National coordination from FASD United has helped this grassroots movement be sustainable and effective, and this work is fully funded by generous donations from people like you.

We hope you will consider giving to FASD United to allow us to continue this work as we fight for increased funding for FASD Respect Act programs. Support us here: https://fasdunited.org/season-of-giving/

Image Description: The image shows a group of adults standing together in front of the U.S. Capitol on a bright, clear day. They are all wearing matching black shirts with FASD awareness messages and red shoes. The text on the image announces that the SUPPORT Act has been signed into law, authorizing the FASD Respect Act. A small logo for FASD United appears in the upper right corner, and a link to donate is displayed at the top.

Just a reminder.

Just a reminder.

We are appalled to find that the CDC’s “Autism and Vaccines” webpage has been changed and distorted, replacing science and evidence-based information with anti-vaccine rhetoric and outright lies. The new claim that “vaccines do not cause autism is not an evidence-based statement” shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the term “evidence.” The science is clear: vaccines do not cause autism.
