Last week we talked about the best part of your birth. Let’s share about our difficulties.
I’ll go first- every birth was different. My third birth was special to me in a different way. Still, my son had his own way of entering this world. Home birth turned hospital birth. My biggest struggle was my intimidate birth team instantly became strangers who did not know my personal boundaries. I remember very clearly a nice, well meaning nurse that had no history on who I was or what I was comfortable with who continued to breach my personal space and physical boundaries. This was one of the many times I was thankful to have a doula that knew me from the beginning of my pregnancy to help advocate and communicate to the team so I could stay in labor land.
Everyone has different struggles, sharing them is part of processing and healing. A birth doula can help with that.
