Both disciplines recognized in the top 10 - with OT taking the #1 Spot?! Two special therapists individually recognized?! West Michigan, THANK YOU!

We're thankful for this opportunity brings to families in our community - it helps guide prospective families to our services. We also LOVE that they included new voting for entire disciplines/offices, rather than just clinician's this year - because you know that the CAYA way, is the collaborative/cooperative way, so picking and choosing our individual therapists isn't something we tend to do often.

However, we love seeing Lette & Lauren highlighted! What you may not know, is they both are the lead OT mentors in our space, spending time with each clinician on a regular basis to build skills and expertise in our entire team.

Kim had no question in response to his spontaneous request, and ongoing task sequencing, for trying out our new Amtryke (thanks to our generous donors 🙃). No shoes, no coat? No chance she’s going to miss this opportunity to grow that connection & communication!

Candidates for this position should be eager to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment. Preferably, candidates will have experience with sensory integration theory and practice, and will be passionate about trauma-responsive and neuroaffirming approaches.

This award recognizes OTs who make a significant impact through their expertise, leadership, and mentorship — and anyone who’s worked with Katie knows that describes her perfectly. Her steady guidance and heart for this work shape how our team shows up every day — for our clients, for each other, and for our community.

Katie’s recognition as a Master Clinician is such a well-deserved honor for all of her expertise and a reflection of the supportive, compassionate culture she’s built here at CAYA Therapies.

Katie here with a live snap-shot into life around our 3 mile location! After listening to Sarah (SLP) and Regan (OT) collaborate and problem solve on ways to help support a shared patient holistically, my heart couldn't take it anymore and I had to jump in and grab a picture! You're seeing their shared response to my unexpected intrusion...

I listened to them discuss how to support their patient's body for increased speech success, and how to organize language during OT sessions to help support executive functioning and engagement (sequencing, attention, etc.). This will lead to more substantial, meaningful development for this child - and more supportive, holistic ideas to help build skills and success in the home. It was awesome, and a perfect example of why I love interdisciplinary collaboration!!

We’ve been quiet on the socials for a while, but for good reason…we’ve been hard at work building our interdisciplinary team and second location - and today, it’s officially launch day!

Today was the formal opening of our 3 mile location - where we offer OT and Speech Therapy with the same CAYA philosophy.

While our OT treatment at Fuller continues, we’re now offering sensory-informed, trauma-responsive, and relationship-based Speech Therapy and OT at our 3 mile location. This service combo helps build skills more holistically. It’s good…really good.

More space, more services, more ways to support our community, and more smiles to fit into our team selfies ❤️

That’s a wrap on 2025’s OT Month - and it was a good one! To celebrate, we asked our patients to share what they loved about OT and we LOVED what we saw! It’s great to see the through lines of growth, empowerment, and enjoyment in each of them, young and old!

Have you met Taylor yet?! If you've contacted our office at all, you have! As our Clinic Coordinator, she's a big part of this team - keeping schedules, communication pipelines, and the space in order.

But did you also know she's a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant? That means in the midst of all her work in the office, she's an active clinician and certified nerd like the rest of us (attending all of our continuing education opportunities and engaging in our group mentoring)! 🙃 If you're lucky, she may be the one you see when your therapist is out of the office or you need a rescheduled appointment when your lead therapist is unavailable.

We ❤ Taylor, and celebrate her this OT month as well!
