At The Fertility Center, we know that infertility is a deeply personal issue affecting all areas of a couple’s life. Founded in 1991 by Dr. William Dodds & Dr. James Young, we offer services designed to address each couple’s unique needs from basic fertility evaluation to In Vitro Fertilization and Donor services. We draw upon the extensive experience of our physicians, lab director and nursing pr

ofessionals to optimize your chances for success. In addition to our medical services, we offer one-on-one counseling services with a certified infertility counselor, free of charge. We invite you to schedule an appointment with Dr. Valerie Shavell, Dr. Mili Thakur, Dr. Emma Giuliani, or Dr. Gary Jones at one of our locations in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Mason, or Traverse City, where together we can develop a successful treatment plan for achieving your dream. Real talk - we can’t be successful in caring for our patients if we don’t have a lab partner that is as committed to exemplary care as we are. That’s why it’s important to us to recognize the Grand Rapids Ovation lab team when they do amazing things!!

With National Infertility Awareness Week 2026 wrapped up, we’d be remiss not to give a shout out to our administrative staff and practice manager, Dawn.

Last week, we celebrated them all behind-the-scenes with an appreciation lunch and gifts for the staff in honor of Administrative Professionals week as well as Practice Manager day.

While they don’t always get the privilege of seeing our patients face-to-face every day, we couldn’t do what we do without them and the work they do to keep our practice running. We appreciate you all so much - thank you for your commitment and support of our patients and team!

Special thanks to our laboratory partners, Ovation Fertility, for joining us this year. Their participation allowed us to double our prizes and offer even more financial assistance to the winners - THANK YOU!

Also, we want to thank every single person who took the time to enter the contest. While we wish we could offer financial assistance to every entry, we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us. With almost 100 entries, it is clear that those going through the infertility experience are NOT alone.

We received votes from over 2,600 people, supporting our finalists this year. Thanks to everyone who shared their stories and helped shine a light on infertility during National Infertility Awareness Week. In doing so, you've helped to bring attention to infertility as a whole and raise awareness and offer support and encouragement to those currently in the throes.
