One of the inspirations behind our ADHD Center is Meagan Ross, MA, LPC. Meagan was a busy mom with a full-time demanding career but struggled with shutting her brain down at night. Often physically exhausted but she couldn’t turn her brain off at night to get good sleep. Some days she felt extremely irritable at small inconveniences and other days she had plenty of energy to get through the day. Then suddenly, she was exhausted even after 8 hours of rest. Well meaning doctors often chalked it up to her busy lifestyle and suggested antidepressants and anxiety medications.
It wasn’t until Meagan finally got tested for ADHD in her forties that the puzzle pieces started fitting together. Not only did Meagan start researching how ADHD shows up so differently in women, but she also became an expert in ADHD. Now, having published books, designed planners, and worksheets for people living with ADHD, she offers therapy and workshops helping folks with ADHD and those who love them. If you are a person who suspects they have ADHD, have an ADHD diagnosis, or loves someone with ADHD, Meagan can help! With her own lived experience, Meagan brings compassion and understanding to treating ADHD along with practical tools.
