🐾 Maggie Needs a Home! 🐾

Sweet Maggie is a 5-year-old terrier mix (about 14 lbs) looking for her forever family. She recently visited our clinic for her spay surgery and vaccines and was such a good girl—sweet with everyone and handled everything like a champ.

She has a super loving personality, lots of energy, and truly loves people. Maggie does great with kids and cats, but she’s had some issues with the other dogs in her current home, so she may do best as the only dog.

She was just spayed, is up to date on vaccines (will need boosters in a few weeks), and will come with her crate, bowl, and a bag of food.

📍 Located in Rockford
🚗 Willing to travel for the right home

Please message if you’re interested or share to help Maggie find the loving home she deserves! ❤️🐶

"Gigi we have to listen to your chest honey"

"But why?!"

Because every heartbeat tells a story. 🩺💓

We listen to your pet’s chest to check their heart rhythm, detect murmurs, and make sure their lungs sound clear and healthy. Subtle changes can be the first sign of heart disease, fluid buildup, asthma, infection, or other hidden issues — often before you notice symptoms at home.

A quick listen can make a lifesaving difference.

Why Dental Cleanings Are Preventative Medicine 🦷🐾

Dental care isn’t just about fresh breath — it’s true preventative medicine.

When plaque and tartar build up, bacteria collect under the gumline and cause periodontal disease. This leads to painful infections in the mouth, but it doesn’t stop there.

Bacteria can enter the bloodstream and travel to vital organs, contributing to:
• Chronic infection
• Heart disease
• Liver inflammation
• Kidney disease
Over time, that constant bacterial exposure forces the kidneys to work harder filtering infection from the blood — which can accelerate kidney damage, especially in senior pets.
Professional dental cleanings:
✔ Remove infection at its source
✔ Prevent tooth root abscesses
✔ Reduce systemic inflammation
✔ Protect long-term kidney and organ health
A healthy mouth truly supports a healthier, longer life.
Prevent now. Protect later. 🐶🐱💙

Early detection saves lives 💜

Sweet Magnolia came in for her routine annual exam, and her dad said yes to running yearly bloodwork — even though she seemed perfectly fine at home.

That simple decision made all the difference. 🐾
Her lab results showed changes that led us to further diagnostics, where we discovered a bleeding mass. Because it was caught early, we were able to remove it before it had the chance to spread.

Magnolia is now recovering comfortably, surrounded by love — and we’re so grateful her family prioritized preventive care.

Annual bloodwork isn’t “extra.” It’s a powerful tool that helps us catch hidden disease before symptoms appear. Pets are incredibly good at masking illness, and routine labs give us a window into what’s happening beneath the surface.
Prevention. Early detection. More healthy years together.

If your pet is due for bloodwork, let’s get it scheduled — it could make all the difference.
