Jeni is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, podcast host of Tending to Change with Jeni Juarez, a mother to four, and a dedicated student on the path of the heart. She offers public classes as well as personal sessions

designed to inspire and empower the individual to reclaim their wholeness and sovereignty, for the benefit of all beings. Having struggled with trauma, addiction, and debilitating anxiety, she has deep gratitude for the power of nature, stillness practices, and loving community to completely change the trajectory of one’s life. She believes there is a significant undervaluation of emotional resilience and cultivating peace of mind in our fast-paced, over-achieving culture, and she’s excited to be a part of the momentum that is actively working to change that narrative.

One thing I've learned over the years is that while introspection, personal practice, and study are important pieces to my personal development and spiritual/psychological maturity, nothing compares to the insights received and progress made when I am in conversation with others.

If you've ever had the opportunity to join a group meditation, a well-taught yoga class, work with an adept therapist, or go on an extended retreat, you know what I'm talking about. The practices go deeper in community. The shifts can be instantaneous when we're reflecting off of each other instead of ruminating within the confines of our own minds.

This is one reason why I love offering Intuitive Guidance Sessions. Working one-on-one with others always ends up giving me a boost, too. We are deeply interconnected, so when we meet each other in loving awareness and authenticity, the energy that is created and exchanged is powerful medicine.

I have been holding nonjudgmental space and offering heart-centered guidance to others for many years. It has always flowed naturally and joyfully, which is why I decided to make it a formal offering. This allows me to dedicate intentional time and space for you while honoring the energetic exchange and valuing my gifts as an intuitive and teacher. My wish is for us all to become who we are more fully and with freedom and delight, for the benefit of all beings.

Here is an example of the follow-up email I send to my clients after a session. I take this work seriously and pour my whole heart and intentionality into what I offer. It's the least I can do when you are willing to show up with curiosity, sincerity, and dedication to your own path. We're in this together 💞

To request a session, reach me via text: 616-915-7595 email: jenijuarezllc@gmail.com, or through the form on my website (links in the captions & comments below). You can learn more about my method on the website, too.

From yesterday's newsletter:

✨Triggers as Teachers: Getting Free Instead of High✨

In Ram Dass' teachings, he shares a pivotal moment in his spiritual journey when he realized he wanted to be free more than he wanted to get high. It's a common experience among us all on the spiritual path - we enjoy a moment or period of bliss, joy, or love - getting "high" - which is then followed by an inevitable low. We begin using our methods as a way to stay high and push away the lows. This creates a kind of yo-yo effect on our lives. Once we really understand that, we begin to shift toward wanting to be free instead of high.

Freedom does not mean feeling good, grounded, and calm all the time. Freedom is engaging with the everyday aspects of life, good, bad, pleasurable, painful, fascinating, boring... with equanimity. Instead of trying to escape reality, we use the circumstances of our lives as a path to growth and learning. We stop avoiding or pushing away any part of the human experience, including sadness, anger, or fear. Instead, we use it to help us learn more about ourselves and our attachments to how we think things ought to be.

This includes cultivating...

From the blog:

Butterfly Wisdom: Navigating the Extinction Burst of Patriarchy

Many of us are emotionally and mentally spiraling as we take in the news of the recent attacks. This, added to a seemingly endless barrage of abject cruelty and willful ignorance on the behalf of our supposed “leaders”. Our nervous systems are enduring continuous fight-flight-freeze-fawn activations, and our bodies and relationships are paying the price.

But/and also, there is something else happening here. This turn of events is shaking many folks awake from their deep slumber. Suddenly, a veil of delusional safety and separation is being lifted. Many are encountering a moment of somber wakefulness regarding the precarious ground beneath us.

We are collectively navigating the extinction burst of patriarchy (an outdated system defined by hierarchical, dominating, extractive power structures). Extinction burst refers to a pattern described in behavioral psychology that occurs when a habitual behavior stops being rewarded. Before the behavior pattern dies, it first increases and intensifies, often violently and erratically, as it desperately tries to reap the same reward it once received. It represents a final attempt to perpetuate the status quo before a quantum shift occurs.

Which is precisely why I’d like to invite us to pause and consider an additional - not alternative, additional - perspective to what we’re presently witnessing. You see, we humans prefer things to be cut and dry, black and white… simple. But that’s not reality. Reality is complex, paradoxical, and nuanced. More than one thing can be true at the same time.

And so, if you would, please indulge me a moment as we give our systems a chance to settle and contemplate the esoteric wisdom of the life cycle and metamorphosis of a caterpillar and the profound yet practical metaphor it offers us as human beings who exist within a complex, interdependent system.

The wisdom of the butterfly and imaginal cells has been shared widely in recent years. Still, I find myself reinspired each time I consider this teaching, so I’m sharing it in case it resonates...

This book is not a diary. It’s not, “Let me tell you my life story.” What I describe in The Life That Love Builds is my inner work and my spiritual path. It’s me healing 💥out loud💥 from complex developmental trauma, including emotional neglect, mental and emotional abuse, and other wounds that continue to impact me into adulthood.

I’m describing archetypal experiences that many of us have, albeit with our own unique storyline laid over top. No one gets through childhood unscathed. And until we begin to turn toward our wounds and tend to them, we continue to be negatively impacted by them. They effect not just our mental/physical health and self-concept, but our relationships, our career trajectory, and the way we parent.

Do you feel called to disrupt the pattern and heal your lineage? You are not alone 💜

✨️First Section (The Separation)✨️ - A reckoning of the “thousand little cuts” that separated me from my divine wholeness. This section most supports those who are ripe for awakening but perhaps haven’t yet, or those who are only just beginning to awaken and don’t have a practice, teacher, or guide. It also supports longtime students who may have lost sight of beginners' mind. My intention here is to serve as a mirror, inspiring introspection and self-reflection.

✨️Second Section (The Initiation)✨️ - Upon awakening, we experience a choicepoint: the initial shift from helplessness to empowerment. It describes how being courageous in the face of fear can catalyze profound life changes, and how learning to love ourselves and inviting self-compassion into our practice change everything. This is a choice that must be made again and again. My intention here is to share universal insights and teachings received along my path as a perpetual student.

✨️Third Section (The Return)✨️ - A deepening of practice and playing the edge for those who have been on a spiritual path but perhaps have a tendency toward spiritual bypassing, spiritual materialism, or avoidance of shadow work. This section invites us to reflect on whether we’ve been using our practice or path as a way of strengthening our ego structure instead of coming home to our true nature. There's always more to learn and integrate - as long as we're in a body, we're not done. Any spiritual practice or faith tradition worth its salt eventually leads the student to understand that Love is the point of it all, and living a life of service is the highest way to experience the Love that surpasses all understanding.

In its entirety, this book brings the reader along the trajectory of a spiritual path, and there’s something for everyone. You will see parts of yourself in this story - parts longing to be acknowledged and reclaimed.

My highest intention is that as you read my story, you’re inspired to come home to your authentic self, reveal your unique gifts and capabilities, and build a life you love for the benefit of all beings, everywhere.

May it be so. 🙏💞
