Our role as chiropractors extends far beyond treating our patients — we’re also teachers. Not only to our patients, helping them understand and care for their health, but also to the next generation of doctors coming up behind us.
All three docs at FLOW are deeply passionate about mentoring future chiropractors and helping to preserve the strength and integrity of our profession. As a registered preceptor site for , we’re proud to give students hands-on experience — because some things you just can’t learn from books.
Over the past month, we’ve had the joy of mentoring Michaela, an incredible student doctor who is just weeks away from graduation. Under our direction, she’s begun practicing palpation and gentle myofascial work on our patients who feel comfortable participating. In the past week alone, she’s felt restricted joints, muscle tension, an enlarged thyroid, and even uterine fibroids — experiences that build the sensory “eyes and ears” we rely on so much in clinical practice.
It can feel nerve-racking to have another provider work with you, especially in a hands-on field like chiropractic care, but our patients have been gracious, kind, and open. We are endlessly thankful for the trust you place in us and in the future doctors we’re helping train.
💫 And we can’t end this post without a little brag — Michaela is the valedictorian of her class! She’s so humble she’d never tell anyone herself, so we’re shouting it from the rooftops for her! 🎉
