Our partnership with West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. is special. Over the past nine years, their local employees have raised nearly $500,000 in support of our mission and services. Because of their generosity, children with weakened immune systems and their families have had access to care, connection, and a place to simply be kids. The impact West has made on our members—and on our community—will be felt for years to come. We are deeply grateful for their unwavering commitment to healing and hope.

For families navigating serious illness, childhood often takes a backseat to appointments, precautions, and isolation. At the Children’s Healing Center, we exist to give that childhood back — safely, joyfully, and fully.

Here, kids get to play freely. Laugh loudly. Make messes, memories, and friendships.

And caregivers get to exhale — knowing their child isn’t missing out anymore.

🍽️ At the Children’s Healing Center, a simple meal means so much more than food. For many of our families, life is filled with appointments, treatments, precautions, and constant planning.

Offering dinner during programs takes one task off their plates—giving them space to breathe, connect, and just enjoy time together.

A warm meal creates comfort, eases stress, and helps families feel supported and cared for. It’s one small way we lighten the load… so kids and parents can focus on what matters most: healing, laughter, and being together. 💛

About us

Children’s Healing Center exists to break down barriers of isolation for kids with weak immune systems. We bring back childhood with fun programing and opportunities to socialize and engage with their peers. Our 7,000 square-foot facility is designed to provide as close to a germ-free environment as possible.

The Children’s Healing Center fills an essential gap in the continuum of healthcare and complements children’s services already available in Grand Rapids. The Center works in conjunction with local businesses, colleges and universities, medical centers and other nonprofits to create holistic services for sick kids.

The traditional services of medical treatment, housing, support groups and family resources is made complete by the Children’s Healing Center which provides essential recreation, education and social interaction.
