Friday was our last day of Kids Kamp 2025 and we had a special guest science teacher from the Michigan School for the Deaf, Claire. Learning about science means fun experiments and crafts! The purple group made boats to learn about surface tension, the blue group made paper airplanes to learn about wind resistance, and the green group made catapults and talked about energy. We made solar system mobiles and then we went outside to watch the Coke vs. Pepsi Mentos chemical reaction. What sticky sweet fun it was! We hope everyone had a fun week. We can't wait to see you all again next year!

Animal friends from Blandford Nature Center visited our Kids Kampers on Thursday for Kids Kamp when we learned all about tortoises, owls, and opossums! We went for a nature hike to find items on our nature scavenger hunt and then we watched a story on the Rocky Mountain Deaf School's YouTube channel in American Sign Language while we cooled down and ate our snack. What a fun day!

We made seashell picture frames, shark puppets, learned the American Sign Language vocabulary for lots of underwater friends, and even had Goldfish crackers for a snack. What a fun day!

Today, we honor the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which has helped transform the lives of millions by ensuring equal access and opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Signed into law on July 26, 1990, by President George H.W. Bush, the ADA has been crucial in the fight for inclusion and equality.
