Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association

Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association The Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Association (MASA) and its members promote the value, safety and convenience of independent surgical centers in Michigan.

MASA was created in 2006 to work with the insurance industry and inform the general public about the value of ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). These centers are modern health care facilities focused on providing same-day surgical care, including diagnostic and preventive procedures. ASCs have transformed the outpatient experience for millions of Americans by providing them with a more convenient

alternative to hospital-based outpatient procedures — and done so with a strong track record of quality care and positive patient outcomes.

Sponsored by Cochlear Limited, this study is focused on advancing hearing technology through improved performance, safety, and patient outcomes.

This is a powerful example of how ambulatory surgery centers are driving innovation in patient care.

Recent legislation introduced in Michigan aims to restrict healthcare facility fees, which could have significant consequences for ASCs and the patients we serve.

MASA is working directly with state lawmakers to ensure they understand the critical role ASCs play in delivering accessible, high-quality, and cost effective care across Michigan.

We are closely monitoring this issue and will continue to advocate strongly on behalf of our members.
