Recent legislation introduced in Michigan aims to restrict healthcare facility fees, which could have significant consequences for ASCs and the patients we serve.

MASA is working directly with state lawmakers to ensure they understand the critical role ASCs play in delivering accessible, high-quality, and cost effective care across Michigan.

We are closely monitoring this issue and will continue to advocate strongly on behalf of our members.

ASCA supports the Outpatient Surgery Access Act of 2026, legislation that would stabilize ASC reimbursement and protect Medicare patient access to outpatient care.

This week in Lansing, MASA Vice President Jessica Rodriguez and Education Chair Cara Erickson testified before the House Health Policy Committee to share concerns about the real-world impact of a proposed smoke evacuator device mandate on independent ASCs statewide.
